After finishing the call with William, Rachel turned to find Kingsly standing behind her.
He had evidently just entered.
"I was just returning Mr. Franklin's call, I—"
She explained stiffly, feeling a bit awkward.
However, he seemed completely unconcerned, extending his long arm to pull her into his embrace.
She found herself pressed against his chest.
His chin rested against her warm cheek. "Are you okay?"
"Hmm?"
"You throw up every night around this time."
She looked up at him. She knew she felt worse at night than during the day, but she hadn't realized this specific time was the worst.
"You noticed I was sick these past two nights and remembered the exact time?"
She felt a bit pleased, gently reaching out to trace his handsome eyebrows.
He kissed the back of her hand tenderly. "It's because you won't let me care for you."
She pouted slightly. "So, you're blaming me for being cold to you before?"
Kingsly chuckled. "I wouldn't dare."
