Chapter 151 - Rein of Chaos [1]

1 week later.

The day was going wonderfully for Aurelia; her workload was light today, and she was able to relax, however, she still needed to sit on the throne.

However, such a good day wasn't destined to last as a man hurriedly made his way towards her throne.

"Your majesty!" A frantic man kneeled in front of Aurelia, his voice carrying the urgency of apocalyptic proportions.

"Speak, what is wrong?" Aurelia tilted her head in confusion.

"Chaos Elementals! Punishment of Chrunus is upon us!"

Aurelia's eyes widened.

Cedric had warned her that the Church would act soon.

However, they acted quicker than anticipated.

"I will deal with this. Make sure every Christian hides. Do not get killed." She ordered, prompting the man to stand up and rush out.

"Ladios, I want you and the other Guardians to fly and destroy any chaos elemental you find." She inhaled sharply, "And please take care."

"Understood, your majesty." With a bow, the Archangel trio flew out of the palace, keen on purging the chaos elementals that popped around the city.

Aurelia found herself alone once more.

She didn't worry about the Archangels, but why would the Church of Chrunus employ such destructive entities?

Her mind wandered to the blood construct she had faced in Vitpacar.

It was troublesome for Archangels then, but it was not meant to kill them.

She pushed herself up while muttering to herself, "It's my duty to protect this kingdom. I will not only let my subordinates fight in my stead."

She did not know where Raguel or Cedric were, but it did not matter.

She would deal with this situation herself and prove to both Mom and Cedric that she was truly capable.

She circled behind the throne, her fingers wrapping around Zenith's hilt.

If she were fortunate, this attack would cause faith in Chrunus to shake... That was if enough damage was done to the city.

It pained her to damage her city, but if collateral damage was necessary to pin the blame and undermine the church, she would do it in a heartbeat.

She had to be fast, otherwise Christians would be blamed.

With Zenith in hand, she rushed out of the Palace, her gaze immediately taken by the dark shadows filling the streets and the sky itself.

The mist of Chrunus.

Such a despicable presence was filling every corner of her beloved kingdom.

However, the darkness kept growing thicker, and more and more chaotic energies filled the air all around her.

Perhaps if she were Aurelia from a month ago, she would have been dead just by the presence of such vile energy, but right now, she spat at everything Chrunus stood for.

The false god had became too cocky, he was to be cast down by her beloved's decree.

She stopped for a moment, Zenith's edge cutting into the stone pavement of Valar, its most holy edge eradicating the chaos around it with ease.

She closed her eyes, her mind entering a state of prayer before forcefully being pulled out by a scream.

With a quickened stride, she followed the source, arriving at a young woman cowering before an immense elemental of darkness and chaos.

'They are attacking regular citizens too...' Aurelia's teeth sank into her bottom lip.

This couldn't stand, she raised Zenith high before charging towards the elemental.

It's dark form evaporating the moment Zenith touched it, leaving the terrified woman speechless as Aurelia rushed out to eradicate the elementals plaguing her city.

She saw streaks of Silver dashing through the sky, light that she recognized as her Guardians.

They were quite easily removing any large threats; however, what remained were many smaller elementals that needed to be cleaned before they killed everyone.

However, while elementals were many in number, they seemed not to move, no matter how many people moved around them, as long as they were far enough, they would not be attacked.

Aurelia couldn't put her finger on it, but there was something deeper at play.

The elementals she killed seemed to lead her towards the city gates.

It smelled like a trap, a trap that she was not stupid enough to fall for.

However, if she intentionally let herself be led into it, and then dismantled it with her power, then Cedric was sure to be even more proud of her.

She smirked. These fools thought they were dealing with old Aurelia.

But she was too powerful for them now, she was taught by two of the most wonderful and powerful people she knew in her life.

Slowly but surely, she made her way to the city entrance, where darkness grew even thicker.

'Useless...'

***

The dark chaos constructs rose all around the City of Valar.

Ranging from small to large elementals.

They were clouds of storm, forever producing a storm of chaos within themselves and their environment.

Where these elementals passed, the very ground withered and crumbled.

And yet they did not move through the city.

Their purpose was clear.

Sow fear, and make Aurelia show herself.

While large numbers of citizens may die, it was necessary to fulfill the most holy mission of Chrunus.

The Construct of Chaos nodded in satisfaction, he had been sent to deal with Aurelia by any means necessary, together with a squad of powerful elementals.

The Creator had ordered them to keep the damage to the city to a minimum, but to cause some damage anyway.

The construct lifted it's misty head up.

3 streaks of silver were dispelling many parts of his darkness, but it did not matter as he soon noticed Aurelia.

A foolish princess by the word of his creator, could easily be led into a trap and ambushed.

"The creator did not lie, huh..." The storm within the elemental raged.

However, as she approached, his nonexistent eyes widened, the storm within the elemental calming.

When he gazed into an approaching woman, he did not see a helpless princess but the sun itself.

The sun that wielded another star within its hand.

Each step she took, she dispelled even more of his darkness.

It was a terrible revelation, and yet he felt happy.

Happy that he would defeat someone powerful in the name of his creator.
