Chapter 71 - 71: Haha, Ice Prince!

Read the AN at the end of thechapter.

---------------

Shisui rarely sat still, except when meditating. His nature belied his name; he was always active, looking for ways to train and study. But now, he was simply sitting in front of the pond where he had once fished with Azulon as a child.

He sat on a rock lazily holding a fishing rod, but his distant gaze fixed on his reflection in the water made it obvious that he wasn't paying the slightest attention to his activity.

So much had happened in such a short time that he simply wanted to take a break. Azulon's death was hard on him, and now he had another grandfather with strange intentions.

"What's wrong with old people in this world?" he muttered, complaining. He wasn't trying to appear cool and cultured in front of others; alone, he was simply himself, complaining like a child.

"The North Pole people found out. It seems they took too long," Shisui continued, complaining and focusing his eyes a little more.

"After so many rude comments about me being a traitor, now they're pretending nothing happened and offering me benefits I didn't ask for." Shisui's emotions stirred in discomfort.

"What twisted thoughts do they have about me?" He sighed and scratched his dense black hair.

He had let his hair down, not bothering to tie it in a bun or braid it; he just let it flow over his shoulders. When your body is very in tune with the concept of life, your hair and nails grow very fast—something he had to adjust to.

"If it had been someone else, would I be happy? Surely, yes. Surely, there was someone who would see the prospect of marrying your aunt as nice. How disgusting," Shisui growled. One of the things that bothered him the most in his maternal grandfather's letter was this aspect.

He was criticized not only for suggesting incest but also for taking away Yue's autonomy to choose her spouse. Was he being hypocritical at this point? Yes, because technically, his marriage to Azula began as an arranged marriage.

However, Shisui was human, not perfect. Eventually, a genuine relationship and connection developed between Azula and Shisui. What Azulon did at the time was more about cutting certain people off than forcing a marriage.

Shisui had an intuition that if he refused to marry, Azulon would be angry with him, but ultimately agree to his wishes after blurting out a comment like, 'My granddaughter is too much for you, brat.'

Thinking of Azulon made him feel sad despite the smile on his face. This caused him to divert his thoughts back to Yue and his maternal grandfather.

He loved his aunt. He had met her in the spiritual world, and it was pleasant to converse with her. However, it was merely a brotherly, familial love. He never imagined being in a romantic or sexual context with her.

Unlike Azulon, who raised Shisui and with whom he came to understand each other quite well, the Sage's knowledge of his maternal grandfather did not go beyond news and reports.

Chief Arnook is described as a 'warrior,' a person who earned the respect of the other tribal chieftains with his strength, bravery, and intelligence. He was a towering figure among his kind, and he deserved his position as chief of the Northern Water Tribe, technically, their king.

But Shisui didn't care about this at all. He felt that Arnook sent him the letter just to annoy him. He was at ease living among his people, with whom he grew up. Why did he have to give all that up for 'rewards' and 'the right to rule'?

First, the leadership of the Northern Water Tribe is not won by lineage. Rather, it is won by strength and other factors. Of course, who else could be a better Waterbender than him at this point? Could he become chief of the tribe?

Then what? Deal with other chieftains? Get involved in bureaucracy? The thought of sitting on an ice throne and listening to boring lectures made his restless mentality squirm.

Shisui never considered himself a worthy ruler or leader, otherwise, he would have accepted all those who wanted to be his apprentice or follow him.

Over the years, he had been approached by parents looking for him to educate their children, by nobles asking for expensive tutoring, and by people who tried to set up cults in his name. He rejected all of them.

He didn't need to be revered or respected as an authority figure. For Shisui, it was enough if people listened to him so that he could come up with something new and innovative. He saw himself as a disseminator of world knowledge.

"But I have to go to the North Pole anyway," Shisui concluded when he felt something tugging at his fishing rod.

It was inevitable that he would go to the North Pole. Not only for diplomatic reasons, but also because Aang is on his way there. At his own pace, of course, but he will inevitably get there.

The Waterbending fundamentals he taught Aang will serve him well. However, since Shisui never focused on teaching Aang deeper mastery, Aang will find a teacher there.

His new Waterbending teacher will probably be Yue, his aunt, instead of Pakku. Speaking of Yue, Shisui wanted to meet her in person and interact more directly with the Moon and Ocean spirits.

'Besides, there are certain vermin to remove.' Although Zhao sided with him, the Vice Admiral's actions and plans seemed unchanged. He wanted to do something drastic that would bring him honor.

Shisui also wanted to investigate a strange rumor that had begun spreading outside Agna Qel'a about constant disappearances in the area.

As someone who was naturally curious, he thought that a monster hunt could distract him from the discomfort he was sure to feel while staying at the North Pole.

He thought he would constantly clash with the Northern Water Tribe's retrograde ideas. Ironically, this tribe was stagnant while Shisui was continually flowing.

"What occupies your mind so much that you let the fish escape, Ice Prince?" An abrupt female voice brought Shisui out of his thoughts. He turned with a strange smile on his face.

There she was: Azula, with her hair down and wearing kimono-like clothes in the royal family's characteristic colors. Her presence made Shisui stop feeling irritated. The Sage stepped aside and waited for his betrothed to sit beside him on the rock.

"I was thinking about the immortality of the Turtleducks," Shisui replied, causing Azula to giggle as she sat beside him, not taking her gaze from the sage's eyes.

"That's a very silly excuse on your part," she said bluntly. Shisui simply lifted his chin slightly, acquiring an arrogant expression.

"This Ice Prince thinks only deep thoughts!" he declared, mockingly haughty, causing Azula to approach him and gently bite his shoulder in protest.

"Why do you always bite?" asked Shisui by way of complaint. He held Azula's waist to prevent her from getting too close, but habit kicked in, and he found himself hugging her to his body.

Taking advantage of the situation, Azula deftly wrapped herself around his body, sitting on his lap and crossing her legs behind him, squeezing him tightly.

Her black hair barely covered her golden eyes, which seemed to glow. They stared at each other in silence for a moment, simply enjoying the moment.

"This is where we fought that time," Azula whispered, averting her gaze slightly toward the clearing where, years ago, they had a practice fight.

"I remember you used very scrappy tactics. You spat on me, bit me, and threw dirt. For a moment, I thought you were going to punch me in the crotch," Shisui replied, gracefully breaking the romantic moment.

"By Agni, you have the subtlety of a dragon-moose in a glass shop," Azula growled lightly before remembering something key.

"You also suddenly kissed me that time. What did you have in mind? Don't give me excuses. Tell me the truth." Azula's eyes stayed fixed on Shisui's. He simply sighed.

"I didn't have anything in mind at the time. You know, it was just a strategy to win, a childish trick from my childhood..." Shisui stopped abruptly, and Azula remained silent, giving him his space.

"In previous lives, as a child, I used the same tactics as you to win. Children can be very competitive and impulsive; we don't consider the value of our actions.

But the time I kissed you, I was also a child who didn't understand much. That's when Azulon set an obvious trap for me, using that kiss as an excuse.

I appreciate the mechanism of reincarnation. I was just an innocent kid who wanted to win to feel better. I could have tried other things, even peeing on you. But, in the end... I don't regret it," Shisui said before kissing Azula.

"Hmmm, let's ignore the fact that you planned to pee on me when we were kids. Shisui, in your other lives, have you had lovers? Someone you loved?" After reciprocating Shisui's kiss, the princess asked that key question, plunging Shisui into his mind.

"I've told you about having companions in my past life. I've never told you anything concrete because my memories are like watching everything from a theater seat.

The emotions are there as a source of experience, but they don't belong to me. They are simply another me, independent.

But in my last life, I did have someone whom I could say I came to love. I told you about her, but I never told you how it ended, did I?" Shisui asked. Azula shook her head.

"You only told me things got ugly, which is why you became withdrawn from romance and made me wait so long," complained the princess, making Shisui chuckle slightly.

"Well, she pretended to love me, and then she stabbed and killed me." Even though Shisui was still smiling, those words made Azula feel deep pain in her heart. Now, she felt bad for wanting to know more about her fiancé's past lives.

"Don't worry. The love, pain, and betrayal from that life only exist in that life. Can you imagine me as an old man in a young man's body? Thank you, reincarnation, for washing everything away!" Shisui faked a prayer, but he meant his words.

He was thankful that he had been reborn practically as a blank slate, despite his memories. When he attained enlightenment, his gratitude became even stronger.

He was no longer the man driven mad by a strange phenomenon, the pirate who terrorized the seas, the slave captured in his homeland and sold to others, the revolutionary, or the soldier.

He was Shisui, apparently an Ice Prince. The Sage looked at Azula, who had a somewhat sad countenance, and decided to kiss him again. This time, they kissed deeply and gradually went further.

"Not here..." Shisui murmured, but Azula continued kissing his neck while slipping her hands inside her fiancé's shirt and tracing his muscles with her fingers.

"Why do you sound like one of the girls Ty Lee reads about? No one will bother us here. I asked the servants not to, and the others are busy. We are alone," Azula whispered in Shisui's ear. This was all he needed to be more proactive.

He untied the ribbon holding Azula's dress closed. It opened before him, making his blue eyes sparkle. Then, Azula whispered a simple phrase to him that marked the rest of his activities that day.

"I want a baby."

AN: Yeah, the next chapter is nsfw, +18, making babys, starting Avatar: Chaos Water-Next Generation.... ok stop. Will be two chapters, the first one would be +18, and the second one a normal chapter. Also... I'm paying that chapter I didn't upload last monday. This week I just wanna sleep a lot. Writing with BlackPink in the background is really good~

Also, the chapter refers to the kiss in Chapter 5. Some people still believe that Shisui is a transmigrant, ignoring the fact that he was said to have grown up as a normal child, with a soul and body that grew together. If you never spit on someone as a child, then you didn't have a childhood. Kids always do silly things like that. The kiss was childish nonsense. But, I won't talk more about this topic because it's so frustrating to deal with people who have zero reading comprehension, want everything chewed up for them, and are so dulled by brain rot that they don't pay attention to the text. Should I put Subway Surfers GIFs in the comments for them? What a pain in the ass. I'm really sleepy right now. I'll stop ranting. Take care!
