Randy tried escaping while he, Ace, and Eliza were locked in carriers in a car. Randy knocked his carrier towards the back door. Once he arrived, he told Ace and Eliza to knock on their carriers. Ace and Eliza started banging on their carriers and heading toward Randy. Randy then reached out of his carrier and used his claw to pick the lock on the car door and open it. Then they knocked their carriers out of the car and fell out, and when they hit the ground, their carriers broke their fall. Randy hit a trash bin, and a hair dye container spilled out of the trash and into his carrier. Then Randy used his claw to pick the lock on his carrier and open the door. Once he got the door open, he limped out of his carrier because his leg was still hurting. Once he got out, Randy released Eliza and Ace from their carriers. Once free, Eliza and Ace looked at Randy and saw that the hair dye had changed some of his fur from black to purple. Randy said, "What? What is it?" Eliza and Ace held their breaths because they thought Randy looked funny, but didn't want to laugh. Randy said, "Whatever. Sometimes dogs like you guys can be weird." Once Randy was far enough away, Eliza and Ace let go of holding their breaths and laughed.
Randy, Eliza, and Ace then tried to find their way to the park to meet the other dogs, as Randy promised. On their way there, Randy looked at a window, but Eliza blocked him so he wouldn't see his reflection. Eliza said, "Nothing to see here." Randy said, "Ok?" Eliza said, "We can let him see how silly he looks." Ace looked at where Randy was headed and said, "What if he spots it in that broken mirror over there?" Eliza said, "What?" Eliza saw Randy heading for someone's yard, and they had a broken mirror on their lawn. Eliza said, "Distract him and I'll get rid of the mirror."
Ace tapped Randy's bruised leg, making him jump. Randy said, "Ouch. What'd you do that for?" Ace thought about it and said, "Um, I just wanted your attention." While Ace and Randy were talking, Eliza knocked the broken mirror out of the way so Randy wouldn't see his reflection. Eliza said, "He wanted to tell you that we're just taking a rest by the hillside to rest for a minute. Especially since your leg is bruised." Randy, Eliza, and Ace all took a rest by the hillside, and an artist painting nearby included them in his work. When they were done resting, Eliza and Ace walked off while Randy limped after them. Ace said, "You know it's only a matter of time before he realizes his fur is purple and not black anymore."
Once a human girl named "Gwen" saw how cute Randy looked, she grabbed him and asked her mom if she could keep him. Gwen's mom, Pam, said, "As long as you take good care of him." When Randy heard what Pam said, he opened his eyes wide. Rand shouted, "You can't adopt me and take me home. I'm a human, not a dog." Since Gwen or Pam didn't speak werewolf, they only heard Randy barking. Gwen said, "Oh, someone can't wait to get home." Gwen then put Randy in their car, and Randy started to panic. Once Eliza and Ace saw what happened to Randy, they ran after him and shouted, "Randy!"
Eliza and Ace followed Pam's car to her house. Gwen then put Randy on a leash and dragged him into the house. Ace said, "Great. How are we going to get in and save Randy?" Eliza got an idea and said, "Maybe we won't have to." Eliza and Ace snuck over to the house and looked through the window. They then spotted Gwen holding a mirror up to Randy, and Randy saw that his fur was now purple, not black. Randy was shocked when he saw his reflection and said, "No. How did this happen?" Gwen only heard Randy barking and thought he would like the ribbon she was going to put on him. Gwen then put a ribbon on Randy and Eliza, and Ace didn't like it. Once Gwen showed Randy how he looked, Randy didn't like it either. Gwen then hugged Randy and said, "You're so cute. Come on, it's dinner time." Randy followed Gwen and then saw Eliza and Ace open the front door. Randy then snuck out through the front door, and when Gwen saw him do so, she looked out the door and saw Randy making a run for it with Eliza and Ace; she chased after him. Eliza looked behind them and saw Gwen chasing them. Eliza said, "We got company." Randy looked ahead and saw a pickup truck, giving him an idea. Randy said, "Jump." Randy, Eliza, and Ace jumped onto the pickup truck, which drove them away from Gwen.
Randy, Ace, and Eliza spent the night in the pickup truck they hopped aboard after getting away from Gwen. While aboard, Eliza and Ace laughed at Randy because his fur was now purple and he had a pink ribbon in his hair. Randy then sat down on the other side of the truck and used his claws to cut the ribbon off his hair. Ace said, "What's amateur? Didn't like the ribbon, pouchy?" Ace then laughed at Randy and high-fived Eliza. Eliza then looked at Randy and wondered why he wasn't telling them to stop. Eliza said, "Ace, stop." Eliza then walked over to Randy and spoke to him. Eliza said, "Hey, we were just kidding about your new fur. It's nice." Randy started to cry and said, "No, it's not my fur, it's my family, I miss them. I even miss my jerky cousins."
Randy started to sing about what his family is like and what they would do for him. Eliza joined in and sang about how hard her life in the pet shop was. Ace then looked up at the biggest and shiniest star in the sky and sang about what his parents were like before he roamed alone and then met Randy and Eliza. All three of them sang together while it was getting dark, and the driver of the car heard them, but they were on too busy a street for him to stop. Randy sang the last verse of the song while looking up at the full moon, as it reminded him of his family.
Eliza and Ace fell asleep while Randy looked over the side and saw the werewolf pack saving people. He was starting to miss his family, but he knew that if he re-joined the pack, Eliza and Ace would figure out what he was, and their deal would be off. But he also knew that if he didn't rejoin the pack, his family would worry about him and give up everything to find him. Randy had a tough choice, but he chose to stay with Eliza and Ace, keeping their deal as a good friend would.
Once the werewolf pack returned home, they told Anna there was still no sign of Randy, and they searched everywhere in town. After telling Anna the bad news, the werewolf pack went to bed, hoping they would find Randy the next day. Before she went to bed, Anna went to her husband's bedroom and looked up at the framed picture of him on the wall. Anna said, "Oh, Rodney, I miss you so much. But if you were here and knew where our son could be, I'd beg you for an answer." Mrs. Young entered the room and said, "Missing your husband again?" Anna said, "He and my son." Mrs. Young said, "Anna, I'm sure Randy's ok. He's Randy, a werewolf like you and your husband. He's smart and brave. Nothing will stop him from getting home." Mrs. Young made Anna happy, and they both started to believe in Randy. Anna said, "I still wish Randy were here." Anna left Rodney's room and went into Randy's room. She sat on his bed and saw the telescope he got for his birthday. Anna said, "Wait, maybe I can spot him with his telescope." Anna looked through Randy's telescope and spotted Randy's muddy footprints, as well as two other sets of footprints. She also saw that they had just disappeared by the road, so she decided to start her search there the next day.
When all the werewolves were asleep, Mrs. Young did as Anna had instructed and called the police. Mrs. Young clearly described Randy's human form to them and told them to keep a sharp eye out for him. The police officer on the other line said, "Yes, ma'am. We'll notify you if we see anything." Mrs. Young said, "Thank you." Then she hung up the phone and went to bed herself. Randy then went to bed with Ace and Eliza himself.
