Pov Tharros
I wake up, and it is morning. I jabing father's still enormous belly and Father feel the pain.
"Ow, gentle, little one," Father chuckled, wincing slightly as I poked his belly again. "You're certainly enthusiastic about waking up, aren't you? I hope you're not planning on making a habit of poking me like that every morning."
I giggled and poked him once more, watching as he pretended to grimace in mock pain.
Father smiled warmly at me as, "Good morning to you too, Tharros," he wrapped a gentle claw around my body, pulling me into a warm hug. "I see you're feeling quite playful today. Maybe we can find some ways to channel that energy into something a bit less... poky?"
I snuggled into the hug, feeling the warmth and comfort of Father's embrace, and looked up at him with a mischievous grin.
"Time to get up, I think," Father said, slowly sitting up and carefully lifting me off his belly. "We should probably get some breakfast going. What do you say? Are you hungry?"
As he stood up, I held onto his scales, enjoying the gentle sway of his movements.
I nodded enthusiastically, my stomach growling in anticipation of food.
Father chuckled and began to make his way to the storage area of our mountain cave, his massive wings unfolding slightly as he moved.
As we walked, excitement sparkled in my eyes, "What are we having for breakfast, Father?"
Father's face lit up with a warm smile, "I was thinking of preparing some of the fish we caught yesterday. We can grill it over the fire pit."
My eyes lit up, 'Yay, grilled fish! My favorite!' "That sounds delicious, Father! Can I help clean and prepare the fish?"
Father's laughter rumbled deep within his chest, "Of course, little one. You can help me scale and gut the fish. Let's get started!"
Father continued to the area near the fire pit, where he began preparing our breakfast, with me bouncing up and down excitedly in his grasp.
As Father began to prepare the fish, I watched intently, eager to learn the process.
Father extended a claw, "Okay, little one, you can help me gut the fish. Just follow my lead, okay?"
I nodded solemnly, extending my own claws and carefully attempting to mimic Father's movements.
Father guided my claws, showing me how to make the precise cuts and remove the innards.
As we worked, Father told me stories about his own childhood, about learning to hunt and prepare food from his parents.
I listened wide-eyed, fascinated by the stories and the way Father's eyes sparkled when he talked about his family.
Once the fish was prepared, Father skewered it on a wooden stick and placed it over the fire pit, the sizzling sound and savory aroma making my stomach growl with anticipation.
"Almost ready, little one," Father said, smiling at me.
I couldn't wait to taste the delicious grilled fish.
As I began eating the fish, I looked at Father, still enormous belly.
Father noticed my gaze and chuckled, "Don't worry, little one, I'll be back to normal soon. For now, let's just enjoy our meal together."
I nodded, taking another bite of the fish, savoring the flavors and textures.
Father smiled, watching me eat with a warm expression, happy to share this moment with me.
As we ate, the warmth of the fire pit and the comfort of each other's company made for a peaceful morning.
I look at Father. "Can I go in the lava pool now?!" Father immediately shook his head and Said "you are still a hatchling, and your scales are not developed enough to handle it!"
I pouted, looking down at my scales, which were still a dull grayish color.
Father's expression softened, "Don't worry, little one, you'll be able to enjoy the lava pool soon enough. But for now, let's find another activity that's more suitable for you."
I looked up at Father, curious, "Like what?"
Father thought for a moment, "How about we go for a flight? I'll take you on my back, and we can soar through the skies."
My eyes lit up, "Yes! That sounds like so much fun!"
I bounced up and down excitedly, "That sounds amazing, Father! I love feeling the wind rushing past me when we're flying!"
Father chuckled, "I know you do, little one. You're a natural-born flyer, just like me."
I grinned, feeling proud of my heritage, "I'm going to be just like you when I grow up, Father! A strong and fierce dragon!"
Father's expression turned warm and proud, "I'm sure you will be, little one. You'll grow up to be a magnificent dragon, with scales as black as coal and wings that can take you to great heights."
I looked up at Father in awe, "Really? You think so?"
Father nodded, "I know so, little one. You have the heart of a dragon, and with patience and practice, you'll become an incredible flyer."
I beamed with pride, feeling happy and content in Father's presence, "Thanks, Father! Let's go flying now, please?"
Father smiled, "Of course, little one. Climb onto my back, and hold tight. We're going to soar through the skies!"
I eagerly climbed onto Father's back, wrapping my claws around his scales and holding tight as he spread his massive wings and took to the air.
Father, look at me and said "Even know you can fly earlier. I don't mind, you be on my back!"
I squealed with delight, "Wheeee! This is amazing, Father! I feel like I'm flying!"
Father chuckled, his deep voice rumbling, "You're getting the hang of it, little one! Just remember to keep your claws wrapped tight around my scales."
I nodded, my eyes shining with excitement, "I'm not going anywhere, Father! I'm having too much fun!"
Father smiled, his massive wings beating steadily as he soared through the skies, "Me too, little one. Me too."
As we flew, the wind rushed past me, whipping my face and ruffling my scales. I felt free and exhilarated, my small body secure on Father's massive back.
I looked up at Father's broad shoulders and strong neck, feeling grateful for his protection and guidance.
"Father, can we fly faster?" I asked, my voice carried away by the wind.
Father's laughter boomed, "Hold on tight, little one! We're going to fly like the wind!"
With a powerful beat of his wings, we surged forward, the landscape blurring beneath us. I shrieked with joy, feeling like I was part of the wind itself.
Suddenly, I accidentally let go and fall from the sky. Father noticed I fell.
"Tharros!" Father roared, his voice filled with alarm as he swiftly dived down to catch me.
I plummeted towards the ground, my heart racing with fear, but before I could even think, Father's claws swooped in and gently scooped me up.
He pulled me close to his chest, relief washing over his face, "Little one, are you okay? That was a close call!"
I nodded, still shaken, "Y-yes, Father... sorry..."
Father's expression softened, "No need to apologize, Tharros. You're safe now. Just hold tight, okay?"
I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding on tightly as he flew us back up to a safe altitude.
Father seems to be scared a bit when I fell.
Father's eyes were wide with worry as he caught me, and for a moment, I saw a flash of fear in his expression.
But as soon as he had me safely in his grasp, his face relaxed, and he smiled, "You're safe now, little one. I've got you."
His voice was warm and reassuring, and I felt a surge of love and gratitude towards him.
I hugged him tightly, "I'm sorry, Father. I didn't mean to scare you."
Father's smile grew wider, "You didn't scare me, Tharros. You just surprised me. But I'm glad you're okay."
I question, "Is your enormous belly weighing you down?"
Father chuckled, "Actually, little one, my belly isn't just for show. It's a sign of my good health and strength. And don't worry, it doesn't weigh me down that much. I'm still as agile and powerful as ever."
He flexed his massive wings, demonstrating his strength and agility.
"Besides, I'm used to carrying a little extra weight around the middle. It's just part of being a proud and healthy dragon like me!"
He winked at me, and I giggled at his playful teasing.
Father smiled. "Beside my belly, now not that big, and I can now handle the weight, thank goodness!"
I looked at Father's midsection, noticing that his belly did seem smaller than before.
"You're right, Father! Your belly does look smaller now. Did you finally burn off some of that extra weight?"
Father nodded, "Yes, I have. All the flying and hunting we've been doing lately must have helped me shed a few pounds."
I grinned, "I'm glad to see that, Father! You look even more majestic now."
Father smiled, pleased with the compliment, "Thanks, little one. I'm feeling quite fit and ready for whatever adventures come our way."
Father hugged me and placed me on his albino scales chest as we were still in the air.
I wrapped my arms around Father's neck, feeling the warmth and security of his chest as I rested against his albino scales.
The rhythmic beat of his wings created a soothing motion, and I felt my eyelids growing heavy as the wind rushed past us.
I thought,'I'm safe with Father,' feeling grateful for his love and protection.
As we flew through the sky, I listened to the sound of Father's heartbeat, feeling comforted and at peace in his presence.
Father flew back to the mountain cave, and when we arrived, his belly was back being flats again.
As Father landed at the entrance of the mountain cave, his belly looked flat and sleek once again.
I slid off his chest, looking up at him with a smile, "Wow, Father, your belly looks really flat now! All that flying must have really helped you burn off the extra weight."
Father chuckled, "I guess you're right, little one! Maybe I'll have to make sure we go on more flights like that."
I grinned, happy to have spent time with Father and eager for our next adventure together.
A few minutes later, I saw Mother, and she said "it seem you are back into your shape!" She nuzzled Father.
Father smiled, nuzzling Mother back, "Yes, my dear. Flying with Tharros really helped me burn off some extra weight."
Mother chuckled, her light green scales glinting in the dim light of the cave, "I'm glad to see you're taking care of yourself, Aetherius."
She turned to me, "And how was your flight with Father, Tharros? Did you enjoy it?"
I grinned, "Yes, Mother! It was amazing! Father took me soaring through the skies, and I felt like I was flying!"
Mother smiled, "I'm glad you had a good time, dear. You're growing up to be quite the adventurer, just like your Father."
Father wrapped a claw around Mother, pulling her close, "I'm glad Tharros is enjoying spending time with me. He's growing up to be a fine young dragon."
Mother nodded, "Yes, he is. And he's learning so much from you, Aetherius."
I smiled, feeling happy to see my parents so loving towards each other.
Mother looked at Father, "You know, I was thinking of going out to hunt for some food. Would you like to join me?"
Father thought for a moment, "Actually, I think I'll stay here with the younger ones. Why don't you take Tharros with you, though? He can learn some new hunting skills techniques like hid somewhere with Tharros 11-meter tall body!"
I perked up, excited at the prospect of going hunting with Mother, "Yes, please, Mother! I'd love to go with you!"
Mother smiled, "Alright, dear. Let's go." And with that, Mother and I set off, ready for our next adventure together.
