Astraea's POV
As I made my way back to the car, the breeze felt colder than it had earlier. Maybe it was just the craziness of everything I'd just learned that made it seem that way, or maybe it was just me.
Draven was already standing outside with his arms crossed, his eyes scanning the building like he was expecting it to explode. The moment he saw me, he hurried over.
"Finally. What took so long?" he asked, clearly worried. "I thought something had happened."
I frowned and glared at him. "If you were that worried, why didn't you come in and check?"
He raised his brows at me, like I was the one being ridiculous. "Really? That's what we're doing now? Picking a fight?"
"I'm serious," I shot back. "What if something had happened? Was keeping your grudge with Veylan more important than my safety?"
He groaned and ran a hand through his hair. "You're unbelievable sometimes, you know that? Just get in the car. You can yell at me as much as you like on the way."
