Chapter 11 - Road of self reflextion

After a bit of stumbling around in the field, the feeling et instability faded, but it weren't the only thing that faded - the darkness.

A sun appeared in the sky, even though behind a bunch of clouds.

In fact the whole sky was covered with clouds - it was lovely.

His throat was still dry, but at least now he felt more at ease to attend to his issues.

As he looked back down and all around, he saw a structure in the distance - a small house.

"Maybe there would be something i could use..." - He murmured to himself before walking off in that direction.

Firstly he stuck on the path, believing that it would lead to another, that would be going to the house, but that didn't happen.

To reach the house he would need to go off road. He didn't want to but it was necessary... Actually, it wasn't. He made the tall grass phase through and simply passed with no issue - nothing to tear where technically nothing exist.

And so he reached the house, he tried to open it, but it didn't budge from it's position.

A few seconds later a sound of something being moved around could be heard from inside the house.

Then nothing...

Someone or something were waiting for him to open the door. He didn't feel at ease at the realization, but perhaps he could ask for help.

And so he did - he leaned slightly towards the door and asked: "Hello, is there anyone? Could you help me?"

From within a voice was heard, from which the kid was able to conclude that it was an elderly person. - "I don't speak English well."

The kid shook his head, confused as to what this had to do with the helping bit. "I need food and water, coul~"

"No."

Then after this complete silence from inside.

"Hey!" - he knocked again, but there was no answer.

He stuck his head through the door and looked around, there was a door way which lead to a room with a table, book shelf and a few other stuff. On the other site there was а doorframe that lead to something that seemed like a kitchen.

He stepped inside and past the plank mechanism that was down to keep the door closed.

The first step was enough to alert that he was in - the planks are old and made an unpleasant noice.

In that moment the woman was heard standing up, as well as the sound of something made of metal being lifted.

He looked into the room and this grandma instantly swung her axe at him on sight.

He managed to react and ran off, while she yelled at him in a foreign language.

He took a breath once he was further away and not just that, as he looked right in front of him he saw a deposit of water.

Without hesitation he got on his knees and scooped up as much as he can with his two hands.

He then drank which caused him quite the pain in the stomach.

"Damn it, what's in this water!?" - He asked himself, trying to recover. But to his question the answer is nothing, because as fast as the pain appeared, it vanished.

He stood up and looked at his hands, the feeling of pain faded, being replaced by the primal sensation of hunger. The thirst was quenched, but he had more to work towards.

And so he began walking.

"I wonder, do the entities feel hunger?" - He asked himself, looking up at the sky, as if it owed him something.

"Do they wonder what the meaning of life is? Maybe not, maybe fulfilling ones desire is the answer..." - He thought, looking back down and to what lies ahead.

As he continued walking on he found himself in a canola field. The sky above transitioned subtly into a more clear sky.

It was beautiful - the weather played well on his heart strings.

The winds, which blew through the fields created a soothing constant sound that made him forget about his hunger for a moment.

He breathed in the peace and allowed his mind to rest, with the last thought being - "There might be more to life, but one thing is for sure - happiness above all else."

From there he did his best to avoid thinking about his hunger, because focusing on pain made it far worst.

But even then he realized something, any situation that is not enjoyed properly is wasted. So he fixed his mentality into something that would bring him joy even in the most painful of situations.

"I live..."

It felt os if his eyes unlocked a whole new quality option - everything looked so beautiful, the waving plants the abandoned buildings, the lazy clouds lounging up in the sky without obstructing the sunlight, which rained down upon the land.

Soon enough he stepped on solid asphalt, a sign on his left that seemed to be pointing to somewhere.

He had no true goal in mind, so following the sign was an easy choice.
