Liam was provided with two B-rank guards for his protection, and they were ordered to be around Liam 24/7. Currently, they were on their way to the Ember's Dawn guild. The guard was driving the car while Liam sat in the backseat, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery.
The other guard turned to Liam, his voice firm. "You don't have to worry, Liam. We will protect you."
Liam looked at them, his expression skeptical. "You are B-rank guards. You can't protect me if someone stronger attacks me. I am an A-rank hero, so the council would have given me at least one A-rank and one S-rank guard."
The guard chuckled, his tone light. "Our specialty is to protect, and ranks can't determine our skills."
Liam began to ponder, his mind racing with thoughts. The other guard then asked Liam if he knew the criteria and eligibility to join the council as guards.
Liam replied, his voice thoughtful. "I don't know, but it's probably a defense-based exam where they go through tough training."
