Inside his classroom for experiments, Felix held beads of sweat on his forehead. It couldn't be helped, for time was ticking with each second counting. He only had a couple hours to get this repellent created.
Looking at the materials before him, Felix felt his plans weren't going to work. He neither had the time nor the resources needed for his plan. Using the sleeve of his robe, he wiped his forehead as he began to think of another plan.
Scratching potions off the list, Felix shifted his attention to other options. The idea of blessing the grounds came and went. While it is possible, he didn't have the time to do that. So that idea had to be crossed off for now. Blessing for the future is possible so he put it on a to do later list.
Tapping his finger on the table before him, Felix continued to brainstorm various ideas. Finally, looking at the piece of wood in front of him. He sighed as what came to mind was the less than ideal plan.
What came to mind was to make amulets and hang them around various major entry points. While it won't stop the pack if they are determined to enter. It would deter them for a while. Once a werewolf transforms, they will lose most of their thinking abilities as their hunting instinct will take over.
So, if he hangs up amulets that will block most of their entries. It should keep most of the school safe.
"Best I can do on short notice." Felix sighed.
Pulling out his wand, he began to cut the wood into pieces before bringing out his other tools. Then in swift and tiring repetitive movements, he began to carve various patterns into the pieces. Feeling he didn't have enough, but not having any more pieces, Felix could only wish he had more wood lying around.
"Good enough, now I must hurry." Felix told himself.
Time flew by in his rush to make these amulets. Now it's almost night and who knew when the werewolves would appear. So he pulled out his compass and rushed out with his bag of freshly made amulets.
Ignoring the few students still out and about and the prefects who kept warning everyone that curfew was nearing. Felix began to hang up the amulets around various doors and windows. He tried to place them in less visible spots so no one would grab them nor the caretaker Filch.
By the time he finished, curfew had already begun and the halls were eerily quiet. Yet, before he made it to the common room, the sound of wolves could be heard drawing closer. So rushing towards the window, Felix looked out in the dark night to see among the treeline.
There on the treeline, Felix saw tall thin wolves emerging. Their mouths snapping at each other before a more buff one snapped at them. Then they lowered their heads like a dog who knows they did something bad.
"They are here." Felix sighed.
Realizing that he must have been cutting it close, he watched as the pack hurried towards the castle. Then their howls of annoyance and a bit of pain filled the air.
"All night wanders, repeat all those out after curfew. Return to your common room immediately. The castle is surrounded by werewolves."
Suddenly filling the halls, the voice of Slughorn echoed around. Either he heard some information or he was out collecting some candy for his sweet tooth and spotted the werewolves. Anyways, by the time he returned to the common room, he found four older students were also returning.

While the students were rushing back to their common room, the professors in all manners of dressings rushed towards the entry points. They have heard of the howls and upon seeing the pack of werewolves outside. Many of them yelped with freight at the sight as unlike most would believe they aren't all genius fighters.
"Why aren't they coming in?" Professor McGongall asked.
"Maybe I am mistaken but when did this amulet begin hanging near the door?" Madam Hooch replied a short while later as she pointed to a small amulet.
Professor Flitwick, being a bit braver among them, slowly approached and began to examine the piece. A few soft hums and eyes shining brightly, one simply couldn't miss the smile he held.
"While I am not one hundred percent sure, I believe it is some sort of werewolf repellent." Professor Flitwick smiled.
"How is that possible? I haven't heard of such a thing." Professor Hooch said.
"I heard of something similar, but it is usually very cumbersome and not so simple to do." Professor Slughorn replied. "I wonder who did this?"
"My bet is on Felix Grindelwald." Professor McGonagall said without a doubt in her voice.
None of the professors who gathered continued to debate since despite the boy only being in his second year. It wasn't far-fetched for the boy to come up with something like this. Soon, the professors split to check the other entrances and found other amulets hanging there.
In the end, the werewolves didn't enter and Severus Snape alongside James and friends got detention. They were caught sneaking around the castle and the entrance hall.
