Chapter 59 - A Divine Gift

You walk back to the area of the rooftop where you were dropped off and you reach out to Tom telepathically.

" Alright, Tom. Reylesh and I ended up working something out. Unfortunately, I don't have the tablet anymore and we're gonna need a cruiser to come pick us up. "

" Sure thing, Donny. I'll ask Gareth to have one sent your way. The club is out on a busy street and there are a bunch of people walking around here, so you'll probably have to land the cruiser some distance away and come to where me and Gareth are on foot. "

Tom then goes silent for a bit, then his voice echoes again within your mind as he continues talking to you telepathically.

" Gareth says there's a cruiser in your area that's on its way to your location right now. We'll see you when you get here. "

" Alright, thanks. "

You say to him before turning your attention towards Reylesh and notice that she's been staring at you with eager and lustful eyes the whole time. You talk to her, which causes her to stop spacing out.

" You know, I just noticed something. "

Her eyes immediately snap back into focus as she responds.

" Oh? What's that? "

" I can understand you perfectly fine despite us being in a mortal realm. When I first saw you being born, you sounded just like the other Gods but now you sound like a normal human. Why aren't your words shrouded in godly symbols? "

Reylesh jumps up onto the thin railing that's on the edge of the rooftop, balancing effortlessly as she smiles pompously and stands over you. She puts her small hands on her hips, giving you an answer.

" That's because when you first saw me, I was still in my Immortal form. Father's Divine Gift to me was the ability to speak in mortal tongues when I'm in a physical form inside a mortal realm so I can tempt mortals with sin better! Could you imagine how difficult it would be if I, like my siblings, could barely tune myself to your mortal wavelength? "

She giggles a bit as you think about it, and what she's saying makes sense. Curious, you ask her another question.

" A Divine Gift, huh? What about the rest of the Gods? Did they get Divine Gifts as well? "

Reylesh glares at you for a moment as if you just asked a stupid question, then she answers you playfully.

" Duh, dummyhead! Do you really think that Father would give me special treatment? I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or an insult… "

She smiles as she puts her hand on her chin, contemplating it. She then turns around and looks down over the steep side of the skyscraper at the people far below her on the streets, continuing to answer you.

" Nahzgor got his chain… Izael got his wings… Noeh got his eyes… so on and so forth. I honestly think that my gift is the best though because I'm the only one of my siblings who could actually live among mortals if I wish. They've always been so very fascinating to me… "

Suddenly a cruiser approaches and its doors open above both you and Reylesh. Thinking that it's your cruiser, you prepare to board, but four men in black tactical gear immediately drop down instead and point their futuristic rifles at the both of you. Reylesh smiles in amusement while she continues to balance on the railing as they bark orders, pointing the muzzles of their guns in both of your faces.

" Get on the ground, now!! NOW!! "

You put your hands up in an effort to calm them down and ask them questions.

" Relax, we're unarmed. What's the matter? "

" I SAID GET DOWN, NOW!! "

One of them behind you shouts as he tries to grab you by your shoulder and force you onto your knees, but you turn your head and look at him patiently as he struggles to manhandle you. He's only a human and he appears to be using all of his strength, but he can't seem to even move you slightly. Seeing that his efforts are in vain, he backs up and points his rifle back at you and yells.

" They're refusing to comply! Neutralize them! "

Through your heightened senses, you can feel that they're about to pull their triggers and open fire, so within a split second, you use your power to siphon the Light from their rifles and their guns instantly disappear. As the bullets that were inside the magazines begin falling to the ground, you blitz around and hit three of them in the face which causes their helmets to shatter before they also begin falling to the ground unconscious. You pick up the fourth one by the front of his vest and hold him over the edge of the skyscraper with one arm extended outwards as the bullets and the three other soldiers all finally hit the ground simultaneously behind you. The soldier writhes around, trying to escape as you speak to him calmly.

" See, I was trying to be nice. I don't want to hurt you. Why are you here? "

The man pulls out a sidearm from behind his waistband and goes to shoot you in the face, but instead of stopping him, you allow him to empty the entire magazine at your head so he can see that he clearly can't hurt you. After the bullets bounce off of your face and his gun is empty, his body starts quivering in terror once he realizes that he's been completely at your mercy the entire time.

Your hand glows green as you siphon the Light from his helmet, revealing his terrified face, and he starts to cry and plead to you as he wets his pants in fear. You see it soak and run down his pant leg, dripping off of his boots down onto the city street below as he cries helplessly.

" Okay, I surrender!! Please don't kill me!! Please!! "

You look over at Reylesh, confused, and ask her a question as the guy cries uncontrollably in your grasp over the edge of the building.

" Is he deaf or something? "

Reylesh smiles as she walks towards you effeminately, still perfectly balancing on the railing. She replies in an entertained tone.

" Here, let me talk to him. "

She then bends over and gets in the soldier's face, intentionally sticking her butt in front of your face as she talks to him. She caresses his face softly as she coos the soldier.

" Heyyy… Let's calm down, okay… Relax for me… "

The soldier makes eye contact with Reylesh and immediately obeys as if something snapped inside of him. His eyes soften and you can tell that he's under her spell as he slows his breathing and becomes vulnerable for her. Reylesh continues to speak to him seductively as she controls his mind.

" Good boy… Let's talk, okay? Can you do that for me? "

" Yes, Goddess. "

The soldier says in a brainwashed tone as he stares mindlessly into her eyes.

" Tell me… Why did you come here? "

Reylesh asks him as she looks at him alluringly, gently grabbing his cheek and putting her small thumb into his mouth. He gently sucks her thumb and rolls his eyes before she pulls her wet thumb out and the soldier responds obediently.

" There were… orders to bring the Otherlander… along with any… company that he may have… "

Reylesh leans forward even more, pulling his face into her small chest and wrapping her arms around him. You can feel her weight pushing down on him and don't like how her butt is right in your face, so you consider letting go of the soldier to have both of them fall over the edge, but you resist the urge.

She holds the back of his head as she whispers softly into his ear.

" Who's orders? "

The man's head then immediately explodes into a bloody mess of brains and bone chunks which covers Reylesh's face and body along with your arm. The other heads of the three unconscious soldiers then explode as well, causing a bit of blood to splash up and land on your cheek. Their cruiser immediately flies away and your first instinct is to fly out and pull the cruiser back towards the rooftop, but Tom specifically said not to blow your cover by making a scene in the city, so you let it go. Reylesh stands back up and hops down from the railing, looking at you with aroused eyes as she puts her bloody fingers into her mouth. The stench of blood covers the entire rooftop and in disgust, you pull the man's headless body back onto the rooftop and you toss it to the side next to one of the other corpses. You can see Reylesh's skin absorbing the blood into her pores as she approaches the corpses. Her eyes glow red as she speaks to you in a concupiscent manner.

" Awww… I guess we'll never know… "

You respond to her, questioning what she told you earlier.

" What about his blood? Didn't you say that absorbing someone's blood could tell you their desires? "

Reylesh's eyes light up in excitement as she throws herself onto you, grabbing your bloody hand and sucking the man's blood from your fingers. Once your hand is clean, she pulls your arm down and you lean forward down to her eye level.

" Attentive… very good… "

She says as she licks the blood off of your cheek with her tongue before giving you a wet kiss. You pull yourself away and wipe her saliva off of your hand and cheek as another cruiser comes down and opens its doors at the edge of the rooftop. You glare at her impatiently before walking up and climbing into the cruiser. She smirks and slowly follows you, sitting in the seat opposite of you. The cruiser is just like the one that you had before, minus the ambient lighting and the woman that you saw last time. Once you're both comfortable, the cruiser's doors shut and the pilot, this time a woman, speaks to you through a translucent glass pane.

" Welcome aboard! Your destination is pretty busy right now, so we'll be landing at a docking station that's a couple blocks away. You can reach your destination on foot once we arrive. Thank you for cruising B-Class! "

The glass pane then goes opaque and you turn back to Reylesh, seeing her staring at you again as she sits with her legs crossed in her chair. You notice that the form that she's chosen is so petite that her feet can't even reach the floor. You raise your gaze from her feet to her eyes and ask her a question.

" So? Are you going to tell me who sent them? "

Reylesh grins as she breaks eye contact by looking out the window, obviously playing with you as she ignores your question and making a remark of her own.

" It's a good thing I love wearing red latex… The blood would've ruined this dress if I hadn't been. "

Who knew a literal Goddess could be so immature and stubborn.
