"Dad, is everything alright? How's Mom? Is she alright?" Draven blurted out, his voice laced with palpable anxiety.
"Calm down," Kaelen replied, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Your mother is okay."
Draven sighed, his face visibly relaxing with relief. Kaelen continued, "Even your mom isn't as anxious as you."
Thank God she's alright! Draven thought, a wave of profound relief washing over him.
Damn, I was so worried. I didn't know giving birth took so long! His eyes suddenly widened again. "What about the babies? Are they okay?"
"They're all fine," Kaelen confirmed.
Draven's face lit up. "So, Dad, are both girls or—" he began, but Kaelen cut him off.
"Brat, will you stop with the questions and just come in already?" Kaelen said, turning and walking back into the room. "Or don't you want to see them?"
"Of course I wanna!" Draven exclaimed, quickly following inside.
He suddenly stopped, turning his head back towards Lyriana and Aldric, who were still standing by the door.
"Why the hell are the both of you just standing there? Aren't you coming?"
Lyriana and Aldric exchanged a surprised look.
"Draven, if you don't want to, suit yourself," Draven muttered, already moving deeper into the room.
With small smiles on their lips, Lyriana and Aldric followed as the maids inside gracefully exited.
New Arrivals
Inside, Elliana was half-lying, half-sitting on the bed, a tiny bundle cradled in her arms.
Kaelen sat next to her, holding another infant, a soft smile gracing his lips.
"Hey, honey," Elliana murmured, her voice a little tired but overflowing with warmth.
"Come over here. Look who finally decided it was time to come out. Come meet your baby brother and sister."
Draven walked closer to the bed, his face radiating pure joy. Hmm, baby brother and sister. It's like I'm in a fcking dream right now,* he thought, his heart soaring.
He stood beside the bed, next to his mom and dad.
Both babies had soft white hair, delicate pointy ears, and pale, porcelain skin. Draven looked down at them, a gentle smile spreading across his face.
They look so cute! He tilted his head, looking from one to the other. But they look so much alike. I can't tell which one's the girl and which one's the boy.
"Hey, honey," Elliana said, sensing his confusion. "Do you want to try holding your little sister?"
Draven's smile widened even further, his eyes sparkling with delight. "Yeah, I really want to hold her! Can I?"
"Of course, honey," Elliana replied. "Come sit down, and I'll help you. You just have to be careful and hold her gently, okay?"
"Yeah!" Draven eagerly sat on the bed. His mom gently transferred the tiny baby into his hands.
Draven stared down at his baby sister, a profound, gentle smile gracing his face.
