He's here," Leon said, and Hinata lifted his sparkling eyes, when his gaze landed on Asahi, his expression changed and his eyes where glistening with tears again.
" Who are you?"
" Dad, who is he?... He looks like Asahi, is..is he his bwother....wh.. where is Asahi, who's this old guy, daaaadddd, daddy, where's..."
" Dad!!"
" Leon!!"
" Leon!!"
Haruki, Asahi and Sol, exclaimed as Leon hit Hinata's Carotid sinus syncope making him pass out instantly.
" Shit" was the only thing that Leon could mutter.
Doctor James was hurriedly called back and the latter groaned in frustration at the other end of the phone.
After a few hours, James went to meet the anxious waiting people.
* Ahem* when all heads turned to him, he began.
" Hinata is in a serious problem.... The effects of the drugs used on him are deadly. I'm sure you've noticed two of the symptoms; social anxiety and age regression...."
"Age regression?"
* Yeah. Age regression is an unconscious return to an earlier stage of behavioral, emotional, or social development. It can be a sign of distress, trauma, or a mental health condition. And that is what is happening to Hinata presently. Apparently, he has regressed to his childhood back in America. He should be fed daily and taken care of. Please try as much as possible not to trigger his anxiety. If you do all that, he should have a fast recovery. Have a good life. Adiós " and with that, James left them, mouths gaping.
" So Hinata's a kid?" Riku asked softly
"No behaves like a kid... For now." Masayoshi answered, drawing him close.
" Well what do we do now?" Asahi asked.
" Look for a way to convince him that you're his Asahi, you're the only one who can keep him calm completely, tell him Masayoshi, Riku, Takahara and Nagamori are Haruki's friend." Leon said, his voice sounded exhausting.
" It seems like you guys are in a treat for a different Hinata." Haruki said , sighing.
They all looked at him with questionable gaze, except Asahi and Leon. They sure as hell knew what Haruki was talking about.
" Is there anything we need to know?"
" Yeah, well little Hinata is very talkative,"
They all looked at him like he just uttered b******
" Hahaha not a funny joke." Masayoshi said.
" He's not joking,* Asahi said as he smiled a little.
They all fell silent till Leon spoke up
" We're moving back to America."
" What?!" Haruki asked, shocked.
" I'm sorry, but we can't stay here Haruki. The government would stop at nothing to get you and Hinata. And....and..." He couldn't stop the tears falling. Sol placed his hand slightly on the small on his back and caressed him gently.
After inhaling deeply he finally dropped the bomb.
" They have your elder brother," he said, his voice barely audible.
" Wh.. what....why....what do you mean dad?" Haruki asked, feeling his head ache with the shocking news he had been receiving for the past few days.
" My....no our what now?" His voice sharper than he intended.
" Babe, please keep calm. It must be hard on your dad too." Takahara said, rubbing Haruki's hand , his eyes filled with love.
Taking that as a cue, Masayoshi took Riku and Nagamori home.
" I'll tell you everything, I'll be honest so please, please don't hate me...." Leon said, his eyes glistening, head down.
" I'm sorry dad, I don't hate you, it's just... everything seems so sudden and sh.....I just don't know what to feel right now. It's overwhelmin." Haruki said as he hugged his dad.
" It all started when I was still a merman in the sea. Despite my father's warning I went to the shore everytime and that was how I met Sol.... I was shy at first, and Lord he looked like he had seen something out of this world *chuckle* We slowly became friends and gradually, we started having feelings for eachother. * pause* My father caught whiff of what was going on, and put me under house arrest. I couldn't see Sol for months and rejected every mermaid my father sent to my room. * Another pause* My father hated losing so he decided to result to despicable tactics. He.....he drugged me and sent your mom to my room that day... I slept with her and she got pregnant. When I got my senses back, I despised myself for doing something so...so hateful and betraying my love. I stormed to my father's palace and found him on his throne as usual looking victorious. I fumed and told him that no matter what tactics he resorted, I won't get married. He sneered and called me a fool. Said the love I was dying and shouting so much for, has found someone to spend the rest of his life with. When he told me I really didn't have any will to live again. After that, I got married and became king of the ocean after my dad died. Them I was betrayed by my brother and the clan and elders turned their back on me - Though I heard they were captured, used and sold, I'm pretty sure they're wiped mostly out now- I was denounced king, and I, Arias were sent away. Your brother...h....he was taken away from us.. *pause* On land, it took a while before I finally settled down with Arias, and within two years we had you, Haruki..... When she gave birth to Hinata tho...she died. God..... I should have known that after Hinata's birth, she wasn't the same person. The doctors said there was nothing wrong with her, just birth stress. But they were wrong, because the person I married was dead and replaced by her twin sister, Aries. They were so identical and I was fooled, for a couple of months. Then we had a new neighbour. It turned out to be Sol and his son, Asahi. Seeing him again made me happy and guilty at the same time. But because of work, he had to leave America and go back to Japan. My death was orchestrated by Aries. But Sol saved me in the water that day. According to him, I was unconscious for three years, and I used the past seven years to recover..... I'm so sorry for hiding the truth from you, I just wanted you and Hinata to be safe.....I'm...I'm so sorry."
Haruki was, well, stunned was an understatement. He was speechless. He didn't know his dad went through so much to keep them safe. He felt ashamed of himself for snapping at him earlier. He hugged his dad and Leon hugged him back, tightly.
" Mmm... Why are you crying dad?"
