"You talked! Kane, that's amazing!" Daniel bent down and hugged him tightly, spinning around the room in joy.
Kane noticed his dad's body was still cold from the night, but he could feel how badly his father wanted to hold him and warm him up.
"Daddy, here's the milk Uncle Russell warmed up. Drink it," Kane said, handing it over.
Russell quietly stood up and gave space for Daniel to sit beside Kane, but as a doctor, he could tell Daniel didn't look well.
"Such a good boy, Kane," Daniel said.
He sat on the couch and placed Kane on his lap.
He felt so happy just being able to drink milk and watch TV with his son.
"Daniel, you don't look well. Are you feeling sick?" Russell asked.
"It's nothing. Just a small allergy," Daniel replied, brushing it off.
"An allergy isn't something to ignore. Since Kane's okay now, let me check on you," Russell offered.
"There's no need," Daniel refused. "It's late. I'm staying with Kane tonight. You should go home and rest."
