After checking his condition, the doctor looked grim. Without a special cure, he said Daniel might not last more than three days.
Railer sat beside the bed, holding Daniel's hand tightly.
Even though he often acted like he didn't care and sometimes teased Daniel with Stephanie, it never changed how he really felt. He believed his dad was tall, strong, and tough.

Chantelle was too busy to comfort the kids.
She went into their secret base, opened a door behind the playground, and revealed a stash of advanced weapons.
Ten minutes later, she was ready to leave and look for William.
"Mommy, Daddy wants you," Railer said, stopping her.
Chantelle rushed over to the bed. Daniel had an oxygen mask on. His eyes were open now, and he looked more aware. He lifted his hand, and she quickly took it.
"What is it? Are you in pain?" she asked gently.
"No… you can't go," Daniel said, using all his strength to speak.
