IAN
"Are you ever going to take things seriously?" My mother's voice tore through the stillness of the room like a jagged blade.
I just ignored her words and refused to give a response she has been continuously asking me to meet with allies hit I just kept ignoring her:
"Or are you still clinging to the same girl who doesn't give a damn about you anymore?"
I wanted to shout. Slam something around and Remind her that Emma did care… but the way she pushed me without a word, without a backward glance made the truth feel like acid in my throat.
"Mum," I murmured. "Please… not now." But she wasn't finished, it was like she was ready to make me feel irritated today.
"We're losing allies by the hour, Ian. Rayden is circling like a damn vulture, the Elders are calling emergency meetings without you, and you sit here in your room like a broken boy waiting for a girl who's not coming back."
I clenched my fists because every word she said was true. And still… I didn't move.
