"Sorry, her behavior chip has been damaged for so long that it has affected her brain. There's nothing I can do about her memory loss."
Victor shook his head helplessly.
Although he was the best prosthetic doctor in the city, brain trauma was beyond his expertise.
"Alright, but thank you, Victor. Send me the bill for the treatment. Don't let Ye Fei pay for me again."
Zhu Di was a bit disappointed when she heard Victor's words, but when she saw Peter, who had already walked into the clinic, she quickly spoke to Victor.
She owed too much to Peter, and if she continued to owe him, she feared she would never be able to repay his kindness.
"Alright, since you said so, the total is 65,300 Euros. Just give me 65,000 Euros."
Victor didn't object either and handed the bill to Judy directly.
Judy was shocked when she saw the amount, then looked at the bill in Victor's hand.
After a minute of silence, Judy understood.
Victor had not only helped Evelyn replace her behavior chip, but he had also replaced many other damaged prosthetics and even Evelyn's nervous system. For all the work done, 65,000 Euros was a bargain. If any other prosthetic doctor had done the same, they'd probably charge around 150,000 Euros.
"Victor, can you let me pay on credit? I only have 30,000 Euros on hand."
Gritting her teeth, Judy still asked.
"I'm fine with that, but your creditor is no longer me."
As Victor spoke, Judy finally realized what had happened when she saw the blue light flashing in Victor's eyes.
"Your creditor is me now."
Turning around, Judy saw Peter smiling at her, and she was speechless for a moment. Peter's kindness was overwhelming—so much so that she wondered if she'd been dreaming for the past ten days.
Peter seemed to be too good to be true, as though he belonged in the heavens rather than among mere mortals.
"Peter, I really don't know what I owe you for all this."
Judy lowered her head.
"What are you talking about? Don't think I'm helping you for free. You can help me pay off my debts by joining my company."
Peter walked up to Judy and patted her on the shoulder.
Peter was aware of Judy's talents. If she was willing to join his game company, the production speed for their games would increase significantly. Their studio's APEX had sold another 4 million copies, and the project "Call of Duty: Black Ops" was officially released. The corporate war storyline had received a lot of attention, but they still lacked a skilled technician like Judy, which was slowing progress.
"Peter?"
At that moment, Evelyn walked up to Peter.
"Yeah, what's the matter, Evelyn?"
Peter was genuinely happy to see the new Evelyn. Before, he had regretted not considering the difficulties she would face later, which led him to adopt a harsher approach when dealing with the wooden man and Brother Finger.
"Thank you, Peter."
Although Evelyn had lost her memory, she still remembered that Peter had helped her.
"You're welcome."
Peter smiled, his charming, sunny demeanor making Judy's heart tighten. Although she had always thought well of Peter, it was nothing like what she was feeling now. His kindness felt like the warmth of the sun, and she could no longer just see him as a friend.
"Thank you, Peter... Thank you for everything."
Judy felt completely different from the cool, aloof girl she usually portrayed. She had allowed her softer side to emerge.
"Our relationship doesn't need words like that," Peter replied.
After Judy and Evelyn left for the Viper, Jack, who had been quietly watching Peter, spoke up with a mischievous grin. "Good move, Peter. Looking at Judy, it's clear you've already won her over."
Peter shot Jack a glare. "Pure friendship, Jack. If you keep talking like that, I'll hack your system."
Jack's teasing died down at Peter's threat. He knew better than to provoke Peter, especially considering the unpleasant experience of being hacked by him.
"Alright, alright, if you say it's pure friendship, then it is," Jack replied quickly, remembering the last time Peter had installed his hacking system. He didn't want to go through that again.
Peter smirked and walked away confidently toward the Viper.
After Peter drove off, Jack, a little envious, said, "It's amazing how Peter is so different from us."
"You seem to envy Peter, don't you?"
Misty, who had been standing behind Jack, spoke with her usual gentle tone, but Jack could tell from her cold expression that she had heard his words.
"I'm not envious, Misty! I just think Peter's luck with women is impressive." Jack quickly tried to defuse the situation, but Misty had already turned and walked away, leaving him alone in his thoughts.
Jack quickly followed, but Misty wasn't in the mood to talk. She had her own plans for the evening, and she wasn't in the mood to entertain Jack's teasing.
Back downstairs at Judy's apartment, Peter dropped Judy off.
"Peter, you can leave now."
"Alright, I'll go first."
"Peter, send me the address for your company later," Judy called out as she headed up to her apartment.
Peter nodded. "No problem."
After Judy went inside, Peter checked a message from Huang Ban Lai Xuan.
"It's urgent. If you have time, please call me immediately."
A slight smile appeared on Peter's lips.
"These guys really know how to pick up girls. You've taken this one down, Peter," Johnny said, appearing in the car just in time. He looked at Judy's apartment building.
He had originally thought Peter was just fooling around with Lucy and V, but today he realized how Peter had carefully played his cards and led Judy step by step into the trap he had set.
Johnny could see now that Peter's long-term strategies were impossible to anticipate.
"Are you like you, Johnny? Stepping on four boats, going on four dates in one day during the holidays?" Peter gave Johnny a sideways glance.
Johnny flashed a grin. "You're amazing, Peter. But I think this girl is too much trouble. Why not just find a straightforward girl and start fresh?"
Peter rolled his eyes. "Says the guy who steps on four boats and ends up with his car flipped over. How about you keep your advice to yourself?"
Johnny shrugged, raising his middle finger. He'd been embarrassed when his own antics had been exposed earlier, and he wasn't going to let Peter get the best of him.
But Peter was unfazed, the smile on his face a mixture of amusement and triumph as he drove away.
