Chapter 123 - WEDDING RITUALS

Perseus POV -

Mythology is not much different from the wedding in christian. There are some traditions that are different but overall it is same.

In Norse mythology and Viking traditions, weddings involved a mixture of practical arrangements, symbolic rituals, and celebratory feasts. The process typically started with a betrothal, followed by a wedding ceremony and feast, often in an open-air setting.

We also went through all these ceremony. Ceremony was divided in many parts. Baldur and Alesa were also the part of all the rituals beside us. It was a long and tiring affair.

Betrothal (Festarmál):This was a formal agreement between the families of the bride and groom. It is mostly superficial since we almost skipped this step. Since the family of Alesa is not in this world and the marriage between my girls and I was fixed with the decision of there and my father before his passing. So it was almost useless.

Wedding Ceremony (Brudlaup): Then there was the wedding ceremony. The ceremony itself likely involved a large feast, with guests separated by gender and seated according to their status. The bride might have been escorted by a young man carrying a sword on behalf of her family. In this case the brides are escorted by my other brothers. Thor, Loki, Tyr and Vidar had taken part in this. It was the ritual that truly established the bond of siblings between the girls and my brothers. Alesa was very emotional in this because almost her entire family is not in this world. I think this ritual gave her a sense of belonging and family.

Symbolic Rituals: Then there were some useless but important rites. Mother did not wanted that we miss a single ritual in the wedding. And this time consuming ritual was on her list to do. Like :-

*) Sword Exchange: The groom that is Baldur and I might have to present his ancestral sword to the bride ( two swords were especially made by the cyclops and dwarfs together for each of us. Quite beautiful if I may say so.) symbolizing the passing of family history and the commitment to a new life together. In my case the sword was held and taken by all three and suddenly it turned into three different sword.

*) Bridal Bath/Sauna: Both the bride and groom might have participated in a ritual steambath, perhaps to symbolically cleanse themselves of their former lives and prepare for their new roles.

*)Ring Exchange: While not as common as in modern traditions, rings, especially those with intricate designs, could have been used to symbolize the intertwining of the couple's lives.

After going through all this tiring rituals we were finally married. And what follows was the biggest feast I have ever seen. It was even bigger then the feast I organized at the Vanaheim.

Feast and drinks were eaten. Everyone was happy and they gave us there blessings. Then they all offered there gifts. Soon the ceremonies were escalated like all other norse feasts. The people were drunk. The war stories were being told.

Every one was enjoying there time. And at that time mother told me to go to my room and here I am. Going towards my room where my brides are awaiting. And It did not take us long for me to get there.

I went inside and my wives were talking to each other. They saw me made a place for me to sit. They were only wearing a night gown. All the accessories were removed from there body.

When I sat on my place I said,'' It have been so long since we knew each other. I still remember the day when we first left to create our own kingdom.''

Frejya said,'' Yes. For me it felt like yesterday when you went in your first fight. You were looking every bit of the King that day you are meant to be. Your Armour on your body, devine spear in your hand. All of your wings unfolded. You were like someone who is fighting for a cause. ''

Zoe said,'' You are right. But even then I just can not forget the chubby face of his. It was quite cute to see the serious frown on his face. Which looks more cute then domineering. ''

Other girls laughed at what she said. Anna also said,'' Well Percy was never able to act domineering with anyone. He is quite easy to forgive and forget. Maybe that is the reason he did not attended the treaty with the shi'ar empire. ''

I mocked them and said,'' Yea Yea and like all of you are born strategists. I am not easy to forgive it is just I do not like to force other to do something that they do not like to do. Because I will not like if someone forced me in this kind of situations. ''

Anna placed his hands on mine and said,'' You do not have to explain it to us percy. Your habits like this are the one that I liked most. You do not force or manipulate others. It helps us in trusting you.''

Zoe said,'' She is right. We do not have to constantly thinking of the different meaning of the things you said. You always do simple and straight things. This makes you a unique existence among the Gods. Quite different from others. And for me your this straightforwardness is your best quality.''

Frejya said, ''Well you are a unique God. I mean I have never heard of a God who spends hours under the sea to talk with the fishes. I mean even my father did not do it. And because of my father I also have the ability to talk to the fishes but I do not spend hours talking with them.''

I smiled at this. I looked towards Frejya and said, '' I ask them for there advice. '' Seeing there looks I can say they did not understand so I explained,'' In my life I have seen that if you want a honest advice then ask with someone who either care for you so much that they never think of betraying you and can even tell you the harsh truth. Or talk with someone who have no profit in lying to you. And fishes will not have any profit that is why I talk to them.''

And after that I talked to them like this for sometime then Anna said,'' -
