At the same time, in another world, a girl who had just fused with a crystal suddenly disappeared.
The nearby phantom was left stunned—although she knew that spirits could enter the boundary realm, this was way too fast. For some reason, she felt that her plan might encounter a major flaw.
"Let's hope nothing goes wrong. The plan is about to begin… I just hope there won't be any major issues. Why do I have this uneasy feeling?"
Staring at the place where the girl vanished, the phantom figure could only stare blankly. Just moments ago, she too had sensed a summoning. But having stayed in this place for far too long, she didn't want to return.
The girl who had just become a Spirit clearly didn't have that kind of resistance, so she was immediately pulled away. But her part of the plan was complete, and she vanished from that spot.
Elsewhere in the universe, Odin opened his eyes again from atop his throne. Just moments ago, he had sensed a peculiar fluctuation. At the same time, one of the Nine Realms also experienced a special ripple.
Ordinary beings might not notice, but he certainly did. He had felt something similar when Tohka descended, though not as strongly, so he had ignored it then.
"Thor, come to me immediately. I have something to entrust to you."
With the precedent of Tohka, he finally understood what was happening this time. So, he immediately summoned his heir, Thor, and ordered him to head to Earth.
Of course, this wasn't purely for duty—Odin still hoped that Tohka might accept his offer. So, he wanted to use this opportunity to have Thor interact with her again.
At the same time on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s helicarrier, Nick Fury opened the chamber door and walked over to the Tohka, who was still holding the Tesseract. He looked at the massive hole nearby with a serious expression, but finally let out a breath of relief.
Perhaps because he had anticipated some mishap, he had intentionally set the experiment in a relatively unimportant section of the carrier with minimal security and equipment. Had this taken place over a critical system, just thinking about it made him break into a cold sweat.
"It's fine. Is everything okay around here? I feel like I may have dragged something over… I hope it's just my imagination."
Holding the Tesseract, Tohka's expression flickered as she looked at Fury.
Although her words were vague, she knew in her heart there was a high chance she had pulled another spirit into this world.
What concerned her now was which spirit it might be—she could only pray it wasn't Kurumi. If that girl really did arrive, this world might be blown to pieces—and she might have to find a way to save her.
"No major issues. It seems there was some kind of spatial fluctuation. But thankfully, it exploded midair after falling from here. Neither our Helicarrier nor New York below suffered any damage."
Seeing that Tohka was unharmed, Fury breathed a sigh of relief. The explosion earlier had been far too intense, and he had been genuinely worried she wouldn't survive.
But soon, his face darkened again. The walls of the chamber were riddled with holes, and all the instruments had been obliterated. Tohka had completely destroyed his lab again.
As for the data? He no longer cared. Tohka's energy far exceeded the instruments' limits—whatever data they might have captured was likely useless. But with the Tesseract and the recorded energy readings, the result was still barely acceptable.
"No one got dragged over? Then that's a relief."
Tohka also sighed in relief. If Fury hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary, that meant she probably hadn't brought anyone else through.
"Yeah... Tsk, that sure was a loud bang. So what do you say, Director Fury? Want to make another deal with me?"
Compared to Fury's grim expression, Tony was elated. His scheming merchant side came out as he thought about how to swindle Fury into placing another big order.
"Hmph. Still want to study the Tesseract, do you?" Fury scoffed.
After all, Tony was the only one with equipment capable of analyzing Tohka's power—and both batches had now been destroyed by her.
They barely had time to study anything. And even if they had, it was doubtful they could make sense of it. Tony's gear wasn't exactly easy to decipher.
"Yeah, yeah, I got it." Chuckling awkwardly, Tony didn't press his luck. He walked over to Tohka, eyeing the softly glowing cube in her hand with interest.
"You brat, if you want to look at it, just take it already."
Rolling her eyes at Tony, Tohka tossed the cube at him casually. She didn't need the stupid thing right now anyway.
"Whoa! That's hot!"
Tony yelped the moment he caught it, then quickly tossed it away again. He looked at Tohka with a hint of grievance. That damned girl had definitely done that on purpose. Of course, Tohka just shrugged.
It was hot, sure—but nowhere near the searing levels it reached when Red Skull used it. As long as you weren't an idiot who clung to it forever, you wouldn't get burned.
"Hmph. Don't think that'll stop me."
Smirking confidently, Tony rushed out. Moments later, he strutted back in wearing his gaudy red-and-gold armor, casually picking up the discarded Tesseract and heading off to another room—no one knew what he planned to do with it. Fury, meanwhile, was already calling in a cleanup crew to deal with the aftermath.
"Looks like I'm done here. I'll head out."
Glancing around and seeing that there was nothing left for her to do, Tohka leaped through the large hole.
Her spirit armor reappeared as she prepared to leave. But just then, her phone rang again. Opening it, she saw Nick Fury's stern face.
"Tohka, don't go yet. That spatial wormhole you created may have pulled someone over. London's in chaos. Get over here so we can discuss a countermeasure."
