Despite my offer to introduce Lucian to Ivy, I don't immediately do so. Mostly because the moment Ivy shifts back to human, her packmates surge toward her with wide grins spread across their faces.
So Lucian and I remain sitting on the dining room floor for the time being.
Lucian crouches in front of me, his fingers gentle as he examines my bruised face.
"I'm okay," I tell him.
His eyes focus on mine. "I felt you," he breathes. "Out there, I felt your love, and it was the most incredible thing I've ever felt. Like a dream."
I smile. "I just thought about you."
He slides his hand around my nape and leans close to press his lips against my brow.
We stay like that for several minutes, just holding each other. It feels so strange to know that it's all over now. Nolan is dead and can no longer hurt this pack. Now they have someone who cares about their happiness. Someone who has been caring for them all this time.
