Liam dropped in front of a large wooden house that looked like it hadn't seen visitors in years. The place was tucked deep into the forest, far from roads, electricity, or anything remotely civilized. Trees surrounded the property on all sides, thick and tall, swallowing the world in shadows. No vehicles. No neighbors. No signs of life—except for the house itself.
Lana was still in his arms, her body resting gently against his chest. He had carried her all the way, never letting her go once. Now, finally, he lowered her to the ground.
"You sure you'll be safe here?" he asked quietly.
Lana nodded, brushing her hair back behind her ear. "Yes. Don't worry about me now. My aunt lives here. She doesn't like people. Doesn't receive any visitors. This is the safest place I could be."
