Silvanus strolled beneath the lake, calm and composed as if taking a stroll in his home.
The surface above was still and silent. He had been walking for a while but hadn't seen anything. That shouldn't have been the case—Ciel had seen the monster the moment he entered the water just the day before.
Just as that thought crossed Silvanus's mind, a faint sound of water being disturbed suddenly echoed through the silence. His ears twitched slightly. He stopped in place, sensing a chill behind him. It was near—very near.
He could feel the danger closing in. This was different from Ciel's encounter. This time, the monster wasn't playing around.
"Whoosh!" A sharp sound tore through the water. Despite being underwater, the monster moved effortlessly.
Silvanus turned his head coldly, dodging the monster's attack. At the same time, he finally got a clear look at the creature's face.
