Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 - Control

It has been several days since their journey together began, and Corruptor and Laussa Odinsdottir are gradually becoming more acquainted with one another, having communicated throughout the trip.

During this time, Corruptor has made four new entries, including one about Laussa Odinsdottir. He noted her hair loss, highlighting that even a god is not immune to such a condition, no matter how minimal it might be.

Additionally, Corruptor has begun to gain control over the chaotic energy within him. This has proven to be quite challenging, as he has no prior experience with the transformations he is undergoing.

If the Ancient One were present, she could assist him in managing this turmoil, but unfortunately, due to an unexpected setback, he cannot remain there without risking madness for everyone involved.

As he unlocked his memories, he came to realize his true nature from a past life. He gained a clearer understanding of his character—mediocre in many aspects, yet humble and kind.

He treated everyone with respect, devoid of discrimination, until his worldview was shattered by someone he trusted deeply, leading him to believe nothing compared to the turmoil he experienced.

Through that individual, he discovered his desires: happiness, adventure, excitement, life experiences, and love. However, everything changed in an instant due to a grave mistake he made.

He killed that very person with his own hands. In that moment, he experienced a bizarre euphoria so intense that he craved the sensation again.

Regrettably, he was weak and pitiable, and someone witnessed him take the life of his closest friend—a person who had shown him nothing but kindness. All of this occurred because he caught his friend cheating on a woman.

At that moment, something snapped within him, unleashing a primal rage at the sight of betrayal. His anger clouded his judgment, leading him to make the decision to kill.

In broad daylight, in the alley where everything began, he found himself running frantically, only to be killed by a child wielding a nail gun who, by some miraculous twist of fate, struck him in the head.

That was the conclusion of his life.

Corruptor shook his head, realizing that dwelling on the past would only worsen his mood. Instead, he decided to concentrate on the talent entries he had received over the past few days.

Some animal DNA he collected proved unusable, prompting him to think about Wakanda. It seemed something had occurred there, rendering most of the DNA he acquired invalid and unable to be transformed.

Only the last three samples of animal DNA were still viable. All the other samples could no longer be converted.

Currently, Corruptor had nothing available in his inventory because he believed nothing significant was taking place in Wakanda.

He failed to consider the possibility that animals could perish due to natural causes or human interference.

Even insects are not immune to natural events. While certain insects may have longer lifespans, many are short-lived.

Due to his lack of knowledge about their lifespans, he stored everything in his inventory without understanding how long each specimen would survive.

Fortunately, Laussa Odinsdottir's talent entry proved to be quite beneficial, enabling Corruptor to address his vulnerability to fire.

[ 1. Obsidian Prowler (Green)

Description: Enhances agility and stealth by 3x, enabling silent movement and precision tracking. (Black Jackal)

2. Crimson Viper(Green)

3. Thunderhoof Titan(Green)

4. Elderseer's Flame(Blue)

Corruptor felt a hint of happiness seeing the new entries, but he kept his feelings to himself.

As they traveled together, he had already put the mystic arts he learned from the book to the test. He had even read the Book of Cagliostro, thanks to the Ancient One's permission.

As a Supreme Sorcerer, she had the power to decide who could read the Book of Cagliostro. It was only after Kaecilius tore a page that contained a ritual for summoning that she decided to seal it away.

Interestingly, in the movie, Dr. Strange managed to unlock the book and read from it without any interference from the Ancient One, even though she was aware of the risks involved. For now, since Kaecilius hasn't torn any pages yet, the book was still easily accessible.

During their journey, Corruptor dedicated a lot of his spare time to stabilizing and honing his control over his energy. Once he had mastered that, he discovered he could learn most of the Mystic Arts with surprising ease. He was even a bit taken aback by his own talent, especially when he managed to figure out how to use the inter-dimensional portal in just 1 minute and 11 seconds.

Laussa Odinsdottir quickly recognized Corruptor's unusual gift for Mystic Arts. As an Asgardian and Odin's daughter, she was familiar with these ancient practices, having heard stories from her father about the person who established the Sorcerer on Earth and had even met the Ancient One.

This made it easier for Laussa to trust Corruptor when they first crossed paths. Initially, she was wary of him, a stranger who seemed to appear out of thin air and had knowledge of Asgard. However, she soon placed her full trust in him, almost as if she were a naive girl.

Despite being a millennium old, Laussa still tended to be innocent when it came to trusting others. Raised in seclusion and spoiled by both Frigga and Odin, it's not surprising that she exhibited a kind of naivety that made Corruptor uneasy, fearing she might be taken advantage of.

"What's on your mind, Corruptor?" Laussa asked, pulling him from his thoughts as she approached.

She still wore the battle suit from their first meeting, but her divine scent lingered, a testament to her goddess status.

"Oh, just wondering when I'll be able to return to Earth," he replied with a sigh. "There's unfinished business waiting for me there."

Though he could manipulate his energy, he found himself unable to create a portal due to the vast distance; his power wasn't sufficient to traverse the galaxy just yet.

That's why he made it a point to train whenever he could, hoping to boost his energy levels at the very least.

"Hmm... What if you came with me to Asgard? I can ask my father if you can use the Bifrost. In case you're not familiar, the Bifrost allows you to travel between the Nine Realms in an instant, no matter where you want to go." As Laussa spoke about the Bifrost, her eyes sparkled with wonder.

Even though she had been born and raised in Asgard, it didn't stop her from getting excited about the little things.

The idea of the Bifrost and its incredible ability to transport someone across the Nine Realms in the blink of an eye fascinated her and left her in awe.

Laussa approached Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifrost, asking him to activate it for her journey.

For some reason, Heimdall granted her request, allowing her to go without needing Odin's permission.

Laussa didn't find it strange at all; she was too focused on the adventure ahead.

"That would be awesome if you could swing that, Laussa," said the Corruptor, grinning. Yet, his smile bothered Laussa; he was in his human form, and while his size was human, his appearance veered away from looking truly human.

"Could you stop smiling like that? It's annoying," Laussa pouted, clearly displeased by his grin.

This made the Corruptor chuckle lightly. He couldn't help it; he was just a symbiote. After all, what's wrong with a little smiling in his human symbiote form, right?

Even so, he feels more at ease in his own skin than being part of someone else. This emphasizes how he stands out from other symbiotes that prefer to cling to their hosts, bonding with them like parasites and drawing from their life force.

'Come to think of it, I still need a good name for my energy. Chaos Energy? Nah, that's overused. Corruption Energy? It sounds decent, but I can do better.

How about Malevith? It has a nice ring to it. It's a blend of Malevolent and Myth, which is pretty cool.'

'It's settled then! I'll call my energy Malevith Energy, an essence that embodies the malevolent power of a myth that surpasses all mystic abilities.' For some reason, Corruptor felt genuinely pleased.

At last, he had a name for his energy that he thought was impressive, and that was what really mattered.

With Laussa already gone to her room, Corruptor resumed training to gather enough Malevith Energy—also known as M.E.

This way, by the time he arrives on Earth, he'll be stronger and better than ever before.

In Laussa Odinsdottir's room, she was absorbed in a book about Earth. She hadn't forgotten to pack her must-haves and a few sources of entertainment for when boredom struck on the ship, and reading was one of her favorites. Thankfully, she had gathered a considerable collection, ranging from the history of the Nine Realms to texts dedicated to each Realm.

The book she was reading focused on Earth, exploring its origins, even back when it was just a swirling mass of dust and gas.

"This is Earth," Laussa said quietly. "It's fascinating to think that there are beings out there who resemble us, albeit they're incredibly weak and primitive. Meanwhile, Asgard has made remarkable advancements far beyond what Earth has achieved."

In the living room, Corruptor is quietly meditating, surrounded by swirling waves of concentrated Malevith Energy, as if he were a planet with a strong gravitational pull.
