Chapter 145 - An End To The Catastrophe

Turning himself, he was met with the gazes of the survivors. As he checked to ensure that those who were still living had left the Sanctuaries, he dispelled his domain, leaving them back into their broken reality.

"Mr. Knight, won't you pwease stay wid us...?"

A small Brownie, with a broken arm, hobbled to Titus. Clutching her limp hand even closer, she eagerly wanted to climb up him. "No child, my duty here is done. The rest is up to you, for that is the duty of the survivors..."

He did not get angry at her question, for he knew she was merely stating the sentiment everyone felt:

They all wanted him to remain behind, saving them like he once did

Hearing his answer, the little girl's ears flopped, saddened by the result. Just as she was about to return to her father, Titus called her out. "Wait! Let me give you a parting gift for your bravery..."

His hands began glowing bright, so bright that it blinded her. Closing her eyes, she felt the world going very warm, before it dissipated. Opening her eyes, she found out nothing had changed, only that her eyes felt very tired. She began rubbing her eyes, only to realise she was using both her hands.

"Dad! I'm fine!"

Crying joyfully, he ran towards his baby, grasping both arms with joy. "Thank you Sire, for healing..."

Only then did they find that the Grey Knight had left long ago...

Picking themselves up, the crowd gazed up, where they saw trails of smoke fading into the skyline. Jewni clasped her hands once again, thanking the Grey Knight once more for saving her.

Mr. Knight, thank you for sending the pain far, far, away. I am sad that you went away without saying bye-bye, but I believe that we will meet again! Thank you so much!

Explosions littered the sky, as Smock and Roselina continued their battle against Varafyr. Despite it being a 2 Vs. 1 situation, Smock and Roselina were slowly being cornered, for their opponents was none other than a Balrog. They knew that unless Celestina came here, it would be impossible to defeat Varafyr.

Not kill, but defeat

Clicking his tongue, Varafur commented on the duo's pathetic performances. "Tch! Even a baby Devimp can defeat you two, forget about me! I cant believe that I'm stuck with two lousy ass–"

Suddenly, the world went quiet...

Varafyr put away his mocking tone as he felt the world change: his strength was quickly fading away, his senses were quickly pulling themselves...

Heck, he even lost the Blessing of the Demon God!

"Sedrum, what the hell on Earadun is going on here!?"

Realising that the situation was turning sour, Sedrum paused her relentless attack on Celestina, rendezvousing with Varafyr. Flapping her wings, her eyes squinted in deep thought, for unlike Varafyr, she gained her position in the Dark Council with her wits and intelligence. Going through what she knew, she stumbled upon an archaic tale that was supposed to be a myth.

"Shit! Run, Varafyr, RUN!"

Without hesitation, she accelerated past a confused Celestina, suspending their duel. Though confused, she soon found her answer...

Voom...

Behind here, whooshing sounds were heard coming from the city. Only then did the trio realise that the destruction had stopped. Before they could determine the case, their breath stopped, for standing in front of them was someone they had sought for a long time...

The Grey Knight...

Floating in the air, he took out his Bolter. Initially, he aimed it at Sedrum, whom he deemed to be more threatening, but later changed his mind, once he realised something...

Changing targets, he readied the Bolter against Varafyr. With a loud bang, a small burst of light flew speedily towards the panicking Balrog...

Despite Varafyr deploying barriers of immense strength, despite changing paths many times, he could not get rid of the bullet. With a final unwilling roar, the bullet struck his head, blasting everything above the neck into meat confetti. Amidst the shocked gazes, one, filled with fear of the highest degree, used everything in her hands to escape as quickly as possible.

Seeing that she had gone too far, and that his strength was quickly fading away, the Grey Knight gazed back at the shocked trio. "Go back... Go back and save as many as you can!"

This snapped them out of their stupor, for they realised that instead of gawking over their hero, they should head back to Blodeau, and save as many as they can.

Once they had gone for the rescue, the Knight released a sigh of relief. "Haah...looks like it has finally come to an end..."

Mustering as much strength as he could, Titus, using the dying embers of his falling strength, returned to the Celestrium, worried that he had gone for too long...
