"I didn't think you'd come." Clement's voice, thick with sarcasm, came from behind as he strolled into the Oasis VIP private lounge.
His bodyguards flanked him, surrounding the area as he took the seat across from Zara.
Zara stiffened, her fingers tightening around her purse. "It didn't seem like I had a choice," she replied, her tone just as dry as his, forcing a smile.
Clement let out a hollow laugh, but his face remained cold—no real humor behind it.
His laugh unsettled her, and her grip around her purse tightened even more.
But she came prepared.
She wasn't the same woman he used to walk all over.
"So, why am I here?" she asked, keeping her voice even.
"Straight to business. I like that," Clement muttered. "You missed the custody trial today."
Zara scoffed. "You didn't drag me all the way here to state the obvious, did you?"
She let out a short laugh. "That would be so unlike you."
