Chapter 231 - Chapter 231: Yue Guan Is Stunned

"Why did I transmigrate?"

"Li Si and I were chosen by some god as scapegoats in a divine game."

"Then why is Tang San here?"

Tang San's arrival on the Douluo Continent was no coincidence. His entire existence seemed to have been orchestrated by an unseen hand.

Dai Mubai shook his head. If this were a contest of "hidden manipulators," the radiant god orchestrating his and Li Si's paths was undoubtedly far superior to Tang San's patron deity.

Qian Daoliu, meanwhile, was lost in his thoughts. The recent revelations had shaken the foundation of his faith.

"Asura God, Sea God, Rakshasa God…" he murmured, unsure of what to make of it all.

If not for Dai Mubai, Qian Daoliu might have chosen a path of mutual destruction upon learning these truths—perhaps by first obliterating the Slaughter City and then eradicating the Sea God's inheritance. Or vice versa.

Both tasks were difficult but not impossible for Spirit Hall to accomplish, though the cost would be immense.

How the Angelic God had fallen was no longer important. The real question was how to ensure Qian Renxue could ascend to godhood unimpeded and restore the glory of the Angelic God. That was Qian Daoliu's priority now.

After a long silence, Qian Daoliu finally addressed Dai Mubai.

"When you become a god, will you be able to ensure that Xue'er is not disturbed during her divine inheritance?"

Dai Mubai: "..."

That's it? So simple?

The old man clearly underestimated the power of the Death God.

It wasn't Qian Daoliu's fault—he wasn't a god and had never witnessed one. His understanding of divine combat was limited.

He did grasp the hierarchy of gods, though. Lower gods like the Rakshasa God and Angelic God were on par with each other, while higher gods like the Asura God surpassed them.

In Qian Daoliu's mind, the Death God must be comparable to the Angelic or Asura Gods. That was as far as his reasoning went.

Dai Mubai pondered for a moment. He wanted to say, "Even if all the gods in the Douluo Divine Realm joined forces, they wouldn't stand a chance against the Death God, Hardina." But could Qian Daoliu handle that truth?

Hardina had existed since the dawn of this universe, potentially billions of years ago. Who knew how many millennia had passed since the Dragon God established the Douluo Divine Realm?

Finally, Dai Mubai nodded decisively. "No problem!"

Qian Daoliu took his confident response at face value, fully convinced of its truth. Dai Mubai wasn't lying, after all—he was simply stating a fact.

Feeling reassured, Qian Daoliu relaxed. After a few more exchanges, their conversation ended.

As Dai Mubai exited the Worship Hall, Qian Daoliu gazed up at the Angelic God's statue. His eyes were still filled with devout reverence.

Even if the Angelic God had fallen, their will lived on. The Angelic God remained Qian Daoliu's unwavering faith.

"Asura, Sea God…"

A flicker of killing intent flashed in Qian Daoliu's eyes. He lacked the power to defeat those two gods, but his granddaughter and grandson-in-law might have that potential someday.

Did he doubt Dai Mubai's words?

Of course, Qian Daoliu wasn't a fool. He had considered the possibility that Dai Mubai might be lying.

But Dai Mubai's statements were simply too convincing.

Bo Saixi, as the Grand Worship of Seagod Island, had received divine oracles from the Sea God multiple times. This proved the Sea God was alive and actively communicating with followers.

In contrast, Qian Daoliu had never received an oracle from the Angelic God outside of the divine trials—not him, not his father, nor his grandfather. This silence hinted at the truth: the Angelic God had likely perished long ago.

The idea that Spirit Hall's faith alone sustained the Angelic God's trials was both sobering and plausible.

On Seagod Island, any soul master over the age of eighteen could undertake the Sea God's trials.

Spirit Hall was different. Aside from a select few offerings, only the Angelic Douluo of each generation could participate in the Angelic God's trials.

The reason? A lack of faith energy.

Suddenly, Qian Daoliu chuckled.

"Fortunately, Xue'er has good taste..."

With a god slightly stronger than the Rakshasa God on their side, how could they lose?

Moreover, Bibi Dong wouldn't stand idly by once she learned of this. That effectively added a second god to their faction.

Victory was inevitable!

"Perhaps I won't need to die after all."

"Ah, Tang Chen, Tang Chen... In our prime, we were evenly matched. I've always looked forward to fighting you again. Who would've thought you'd end up like this?"

"In matters of love, you bested me. I admit defeat."

"But in strength, my descendants will surpass yours… Hahaha!"

Qian Daoliu's laugh carried a hint of sadness.

Before gods, even Rank 99 peerless Douluo were as insignificant as ants, utterly powerless.

It was a tragic truth. Tang Chen, a prodigious talent and a chosen of fate, had fallen on the path to godhood. Now, he was the deranged Slaughter King of the Slaughter City.

Dai Mubai had mentioned Tang Chen's fate, and Qian Daoliu had no reason to doubt it. If the Angelic God's demise was believable, so was Tang Chen's tragedy.

"I need to make preparations. If things don't work out, I'll ensure their inheritances are severed completely!"

Dai Mubai had no trouble finding his way out of the Worship Hall. However, he was intercepted by Bibi Dong upon exiting.

A stranger emerging from the Worship Hall? Naturally, he must be the person she was looking for!

"This way, sir. Her Holiness, the Supreme Pontiff, requests your presence!"

Dai Mubai turned toward the speaker and paused.

It was Yue Guan, also known as Chrysanthemum Douluo, dressed in golden armor with a layer of powder on his face, gesturing delicately with a raised orchid finger.

Dai Mubai froze briefly.

He had a minor connection to Yue Guan through herbal knowledge. Though Dai Mubai hadn't sought Yue Guan directly, Qian Renxue had retrieved the information on his behalf, leaving him indebted to Yue Guan.

After a moment of thought, Dai Mubai pulled out a seed of the Delicate Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum and handed it to Yue Guan.

"You're surprisingly polite. This is for you," Dai Mubai said.

He had collected several seeds of the Delicate Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum before consuming the herb, intending to plant them around his future home after becoming a god.

Yue Guan: "???"

He stared at the seed in confusion. What did this golden-haired boy mean by this?

Then, as he recognized the seed in his hand, Yue Guan's expression shifted drastically.
