The morning sky was pale gold when they set off.
Auri flew low over the last stretch of rocky ground, crouched on his adaptive cleaning brush in its flight form. Wind tugged at his coat and hair, the morning air still carrying traces of the sandstorm.
Below and beside him, Darius moved without effort, keeping pace with long strides and graceful leaps as if gravity bent politely around him. Auri had offered him a ride, but the man had only given the brush a side-eye like it had personally offended him before he politely refused.
Clearly, Darius was not a fan of flying on bristles.
