Chapter 4 - Pandora (1)

[Would you like to Launch [Pandora]?]

[Yes] [No]

Clicking [Yes], my vision shifted, showing a sprawling landscape filled that had a giant city on it with an elegant castle before a window with a digital keyboard appeared in front of me.

Thinking for a bit, I started to tap.

[Name: Grim]

After that, another panel appeared in front of me with a list of races.

→ Dryads

→ Fairy

→ Dragonborn

→ Halfling

Each of the races had their own perks. For example, Orcs started with higher physical stats, while elves have a higher mana stat, same with dark elves, and humans had more quests along with a lot of rare items.

I then quickly chose [Human], as the quests I needed were in the human kingdom.

After that, another panel appeared in front of me with a list of towns.

→ Suntara

→ Camwick

→ Radwin

→ Oxhelm

→ Dardon

Scrolling through the long list of towns I settled on one that was perfect for my plan and where a few hidden quests were.

[Would you like to spawn in the town of [Mistcairn]?]

[Yes] [No]

Clicking [Yes], my vision shifted again before turning black. Slowly opening my eyes, I looked around the small spawning area. It was built of stone with many runes on them but there was also a glass dome on the top.

However, the next moment, small lights appeared before they took the shape of a human. Then, more players appeared.

Looking around, I didn't recognize any of the names, which was good as it meant nothing had changed drastically.

Unlike other games where you would probably start with something [Pandora] made it so that the player only spawned in with some clothes. They wouldn't get a class until they reached level five however, they had a chance to earn a few skills depending on their actions.

I then checked my status.

A grin appeared on my face "I'm back bitches!" I cheered, which earned me some weird looks.

Ignoring them, I started to walk out of the spawn location. Exiting the spawn point, I looked around the medium-sized town. There were some NPC running about that gave me curious stares, which wasn't surprising.

I never really looked deep into the lore of [Pandora] but I did remember that the players were some sort of otherworldly explorers or something like that.

Although I didn't really care.

Most of these NPCs didn't really do anything, so I didn't need to care about them. I started to walk toward the exit so I could go into the forest as I knew this town like the back of my hand. I walked through the exit and ignored the gaze of the guards. I headed deeper into the forest, where the fog was getting thicker.

As I was walking through the forest, I stopped.

*Snap*

Turning around, I saw a goblin.

[Goblin lvl 5]

I mean I don't have to describe it, do I? It's a goblin.

In its hand, though, was a small blade.

"Looks like I found my weapon," I said with a grin

The goblin then charged toward me with amazing speed; however, I reacted quickly. When it reached a certain distance, I kicked it causing it to let out a small cry.

"Graahh!"

It landed on the floor before it rolled but it also dropped the blade. Picking it up, I lunged toward the goblin before it could recover and swung downward, decapitating it.

[+14 XP]

Blood spurted out its neck as its head rolled to the side. Touching the corpse, I put it in my inventory and twerled the dagger in my hand.

It seemed to be made of stone but was pretty sharp.

Turning around, I saw around a dozen pairs of crimson eyes staring at me through the veil of mist, causing me to grin. A group of goblins suddenly charged toward me; however, I charged toward them. Swinging my dagger, I quickly killed a few of the goblins.

Looking at the three other goblins rushing at me, I quickly stepped back before I grabbed a corpse of a goblin and threw it at the others. This caused 2 of them to stumble however, it gave me the chance to finish them off.

[You Leveled up!]

Seeing that I had received 5 stat points, I put them all in agility, which gave me a total of 10 agility points.

I then threw my dagger in front of me and watched it pierce another goblin in the head. Staring at the remaining 5 goblins, who seemed to be scared, I slowly bent down before grabbing another dagger.

Once I grabbed the dagger, I quickly swung it upward, creating a crimson diagonal line on the goblin that was charging toward me before it split apart. With how close it was, some of its blood landed on my face. Quickly finishing off the rest of the remaining goblins, I reopened my status screen.

[XP: 51/222 ]

"Not bad, I guess."

I then started to move my arms around. I couldn't help but let out a sigh "I guess I've gotten used to the pods."

The Vritual Gaming Pods allow players to move more freely as if they were actually in another world. It would also affect taste, feeling, and much more.

Although I didn't care about the taste, my movements were vital if I wanted even challenge the boss of this forest or even get that unique quest.

The unique quest I was talking about was something I needed.

When I completed it, I would be able to get a bottle of divine essence from the church. It was an amazing crafting material, allowing you to get to make things like artifacts that could heal you, rest dark magic, or if you consume it give you an immense buff.

And I needed to make the very powerful class.

"But first, I need some coins."
