Shuri glanced up at him, caught off guard by the intensity in his eyes. "It's hot in here. I need a breather."
"I'll come with you."
"No, if you come with me, I won't get a moment's peace," she protested softly, her voice laced with a hint of exasperation.
She could already imagine the flock of people following Noran, trying to engage him in conversation, and she needed a break from all the attention.
Noran's brows furrowed slightly, his reluctance clear. "I can make them stay away."
Shuri hesitated at his words, sensing he might resort to threats to keep others at bay. She worried it could damage his reputation, especially now that he had revealed himself as the Chairman of Paragon; chasing people away could only invite unwanted scrutiny.
She took a breath, trying to keep things light. "I also need to go to the break room to touch up my makeup. It's better if you don't follow."
