Sienna's POV
I blinked, and the First Ruby Wolf was gone. The pack of ruby-eyed wolves disappeared. The three moons in the sky winked out like lights blown by the wind.
"Sienna!" A familiar voice called. Kieran.
I was back in the real world, back in what left of the cabin. The battle was over. Dawn light streamed through the broken walls, turning the dust in the air to gold.
My body ached everywhere. My clothes were torn and stained with blood—some mine, some not. But I was living. We had survived.
Kieran knelt beside me, his face scratched but his eyes bright with relief. "You did it," he said. "You actually did it."
Behind him, Ronan leaned against a broken beam, holding his side where a deep cut was slowly healing. Even hurt, he looked stronger somehow. More whole.
Caius stood in the doorway, the rising sun casting his shade long across the floor. Vampires weren't supposed to be able to stand in sunlight, but the ruby glow around him seemed to keep him from burning.
