Lu Jinyang lay there with his eyes open, staring at the ceiling, his gaze empty and unfocused.
Lu Zhiyuan showed a delighted expression, uncertainly calling out, "Jinyang?"
It took Lu Jinyang a while to turn his head towards him but, still, his eyes remained unfocused.
"Dad?"
He called out uncertainly.
"Ah!" Lu Zhiyuan discovered that this "Dad" sounded even more pleasant than the "Daddy" he said when he first learned to speak.
He discreetly wiped the corner of his eye and said with a smile, "It's good that you're awake, it's good that you're awake."
After the initial joy, Lu Zhiyuan thought to call the doctor and hurriedly pressed the call button. While waiting, he noticed something was amiss.
He realized, no matter what he did, Lu Jinyang didn't have much of a reaction, even when talking to him, Lu Jinyang's gaze wasn't focused on him.
It was that sort of hollow gaze, like that of a blind person, void of focus.
