The banquet was held by the lakeside, with Delphine standing right in front of the emerald-green artificial lake. Though there were jade-white railings, after Bessie Leclair gave her a shove, she still stumbled backward unsteadily. Amid the chaos, someone accidentally bumped into her, causing her to fall to the ground. Suddenly, panicked voices rang out: "Melody Cloud has fallen into the lake!"
Right after, the sound of a splash echoed, and someone had already jumped in to rescue her.
The commotion immediately drew everyone's attention.
The lakeside turned into utter chaos.
Delphine lay on the ground, her ankle sprained and her knee scraped, burning with pain.
Jocelyn Yeager, his face ashen, attempted to help her up, but Bessie Leclair, crying and making a scene, clung to him tightly and wouldn't let go.
As for the others, they had all already rushed to the lakeside.
