Sang Chuan didn't say anything, and Sang Ning hadn't noticed Shen Yi's odd behavior yet.
From the front, his complexion looked fairly normal, aside from being slightly pale.
But the moment he turned his head toward the courtyard gate, his unusually red ears caught Sang Ning's eye.
"I…"
Shen Yi tried to say something, but only managed to choke out a single syllable.
Right after that, his whole body seemed to lose all strength as he started to slump toward the stone table.
"Damn!"
Sang Ning cursed under her breath, her movements faster than Shen Yi's collapse. Before he hit the table, she stepped forward quickly, jumped onto the stone surface, and reached out to catch him.
Sang Chuan and Song Shiye were nearly scared out of their wits; if Sang Ning had been just a second slower, Shen Yi's head would have smacked straight against the hard stone table.
At best, he'd end up with a concussion; at worst, he'd be completely brain-damaged.
