Jenna hunched over in the half-light of her dad's study, Kai's photo just chilling there on the table, completely ignored. Her brain? Total chaos. Flashes of hanging with Kennie, all those nights laughing about pretty much nothing, back when life wasn't a mess and her dad wasn't, you know, freezing her out with his Machiavelli routine.
