This nightmare wasn't like this at the start. In the beginning, she ascended step by step, nearing the Great Dao, about to push open the wondrous gate, relying on the Goddess's legacy for ascension.
Endless resplendent lights and ethereal glimmers surrounded her, faintly accompanied by the cry of immortal cranes. It felt as though one foot had transcended already, while the other still lingered in the mortal realm.
But then... that face appeared.
She still remembered—it was sneering. It forcibly dragged her down from the Great Dao, pinned her to the ground, True Qi surged into her meridian points, and everything exploded into chaos. It seemed as though a section of the Longevity Bridge had snapped.
What followed in the dream became increasingly blurry. All she could recall was forgetting who she was, wanting to turn into a mere stone. In the end, that face reappeared, consuming her entire field of vision.
