Zach and Auro rested there for what felt like a few hours at most before continuing their journey.
"Ahh can't we stay there a little bit longer, Zach groaned with displeasure as he stuck the sticky meat of the giant maggot into a hide skin bag Auro made.
"There are numerous monsters, staying in one place for too long might attract beasts that will slow us down even further, we have to keep moving" Auro said indifferently as he began the journey, they walked across the plain snow, as the blackened trees grew less and less.
"This burrower of a thing, it's an astryx monster right?", Zach Wondered, "yeah, it's one of the weakest basically an imp", Auro replied indifferently, "An imp?", Zach raised a brow.
"There are six levels of monster with imp being the weakest.
• Imps
• Fiends
• Hunters
• Reapers
• Demons and..
• Hollows
He explained.
"To put it into perspective, an imp can only decimate a street but with the help of mundane folks with weapons it can be put down, A fiend is much more powerful and cunning, they can decimate a neighborhood moving and picking their targets wisely, the intelligence of these creatures develop as high as they go, Hunters can wipe out an entire group of earth knights, they are one of the most dangerous." Auro slowed his paced, because Zach was already panting while carrying the bag.
"What about reapers and other teirs above" Zach questioned, "No one have seen a reaper before, well no one in my life line".
Auro came to a halt, followed by Zach, "what's wrong?" Zach asked.
"Neighhh"
The distant sounds of horses, filled the air as little black dots began to form on the horizon, these were horses, being rode by people, "Zach" Auro mumbled but Zach could hear him.
"Prepare for battle.."
The horses stopped just short from the duo as a bald headed man with a plate of fully equipped armor (except the helmet) stepped down, the other horses quickly arrived at the scene filling the place with Nickers and snorts.
The other knight, still fully equipped stepped down.
The bald headed man looked at the duo with his cold eyes, "Gentlemen how can we help you", Auro still maintaimg a smug expression gestured.
We were looking for our men, the blad man, putting his hands behind his back paced, as he spoke.
"And we found them dead in the snow, killed by some sort of beast", then his eyes gazed at them. "But we found something quite unusual", the sound of blades being unsheathed filled the air as aza h and Auro stood in the middle the surrounding knight had unsheathed their blades.
"On some of our men, there were blade marks, meaning a few were killed by a swordsman", the man glaced at the blade on Auro's waist "know something about that?".
Zach surveyed his surroundings, judging by the surrounding knights aura he could tell they the kings surround then we're mortals, but..
Zach looked at the bald man as his eyes flashed with blood lust, Zach could feel his aura, but he could tell this guy was in a league of his own.
Auro stood calmly an air of confidence surrounding him, Zach was ready to summon the wind sword any moment from now.
"I'm sorry sir, but we didn't see the fugitives you are talking about, if you don't mind we'll be on our way now", Auro not intimidated by the middle aged man's pressure causally walked passed him, Zach followed closely behind but their steps were blocked by a knights blade.
"It is possible that it isn't you two that did that" Zach eyes widened as he felt nauseous in his stomach, the killing intent radiating from the baldy even made the knights shiver.
Baldy unsheathed his blade, "but the kingdom of valgard needs closure" he spoke, words sank into Zach's bone.
Unlike Zach Auro stood calm, "you guys match the description of the fugitives, and you're not from the west are you?" Even if we do let you go the probability of you being the killers will come back to bit us in the butt, please understand.
Auro gave a long exaggerated sigh..then smirked.
"You know.. I'd hate to fight you all" he said cocking his head to the side, "but honestly it'd be a waist of energy, you're too weak". The knights stiffened as Auro continued.
Auro tilted his head towards Zach, "but I guess it your lucky day", Auro patted Zach on the shoulder, "but my apprentice here, he's more than enough".
Zach's panicked eyes shot at Auro as he responded with a wink. 'Hell nah'.
Auro ignoring him completely raised a finger, "one minute" the crowd went silent "It'll take him one minute to decimate you all", Auro's cold voice seem to penetrate the baldy as he face rumpled in anger.
"What did you say?", baldy gritted his teeth. Zach nuged on Auro caped hard "Have you lost your Damm mind?.
Auro ignoring his bantering and walked over casually to a burnt tree stomp, brushing snow off the brunt trunk and sat on it.
"Go on" he gestured at Zach, you'll only die faster if you keep looking at me like that, Auro crossed his arms.
The situation was already as bad as it is, Zach couldn't tell if Auro was scheming something or genuinely wanted him to die", these were knight, not trainees at the training facility on earth, the last knight Zach fought almost killed him if Auro had not stepped in.
*Gulp.. I'm done for*
One of the knights growled, "is this some kind of a joke", the knight, fully clad in silver armor walked over to Zach. "Only if you die funny" Auro shrugged waving him off with a flick.
Zach took a deep breath trying to calm the swirl in his chest, he looked at the knight in front of him.
'Summon wind blade'
[Wind blade summoned]
A mirror like blade appeared out of thin air on Zach's hand, throwing the knights aback.
"I don't know what you're planning Auro" Zach sighed and his grip tighten on the blade in his hand.
"But I'll trust you on this one"
