Sakiya stood on a high platform, watching as a pillar of light rose from the horizon.
A smirk curled at the corner of her lips. She lifted one hand, as if holding up the sky, palm facing upward.
"Destruction strike request received! The death trial is ready!"
In the next moment, a glowing energy circle spread out from her palm, hovering as it flashed brightly.
Sakiya locked her gaze on the beacon in the distance and began the countdown.
"Three… Two… One… Fire!!!"
The magic circle ignited—
And then—
A dense barrage of energy fireballs shot into the sky.
Some were small and swift, while others were larger and crackling with power.
They ascended rapidly, disappearing beyond the clouds.
---
Nearby, Naruto sat cross-legged, watching the entire spectacle with a bored expression.
With a sigh, he muttered under his breath:
"Yeah… definitely got tricked by Granny Tsunade."
---
Not far from Sakiya's launch site, Tsunade observed the attack from her office window.
A satisfied grin appeared on her face as she watched the fireballs streak toward their target.
"This kind of precision strike is perfect for wiping out large enemy forces."
Raikage, standing beside her, nodded in approval.
"The tide of battle is shifting in our favor."
---
Above the Battlefield
The moment enemy forces emerged, they were met with a devastating strike from above.
The energy fireballs descended at incredible speed, so dense that they blanketed the battlefield in an instant.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions erupted non-stop, tearing through the enemy ranks. Flames roared as shockwaves rippled across the battlefield.
The sheer intensity of the attack left nothing but destruction in its wake.
The ground trembled, craters forming one after another as the attack continued relentlessly.
---
Amidst the chaos, Kakashi and his team held their position, watching the devastation unfold.
Despite the overwhelming destruction, they weren't ready to move in just yet.
Instead, Kakashi made a decision.
"One more round—increase the strike radius!"
The next wave of energy fireballs was even larger, descending from the sky like pillars of light.
---
BOOM!!!
A massive mushroom cloud rose into the air.
The battlefield—once a sprawling plain—had now been completely transformed.
Where there was once solid ground, only a deep, gaping crater remained.
Kakashi exhaled sharply, lowering his hand as he signaled the next phase.
"Alright, let's move. Stay on guard!"
Beside him, Might Guy gave a firm nod, stepping forward without hesitation.
The other allied shinobi followed suit, advancing cautiously.
Just to be safe, they marked the beacon again—launching additional strikes to clear the path ahead.
By the time they finally stepped onto the battlefield, the terrain had changed completely.
What was once a battlefield had now become a valley… no, an abyss.
And still, Kakashi's voice rang out with a reminder:
"The beacon is unlimited—use it as much as needed! Don't hold back!"
---
The battle erupted in an instant.
Sasori, still dazed by the sudden pillar of light, barely had time to react before it struck down like a bolt of lightning from the heavens.
He hadn't even moved. Had he been caught off guard?
Before anyone could blink, the blinding beam swallowed his entire figure, slamming into the earth with an explosive impact. The ground shook violently, leaving a deep, scorched crater where he once stood.
Kankuro's eyes lit up.
"Direct hit!"
---
Up in the sky, Deidara witnessed it all—and his anger boiled over.
"Sasori, senpai!" he roared.
His furious gaze snapped toward Kankuro and the surprise attack team below.
"You bastards!"
His fingers moved in an instant, shaping clay as his rage took form.
"Let's see how you handle real explosive art!"
With a flick of his wrist, the giant white bird beneath him shattered into dozens of miniature clay birds, each one diving toward Kankuro like homing missiles.
Before the bombs could reach their target, Sai moved swiftly.
Pulling out a scroll, he dashed his brush across the paper in one smooth stroke.
"Super Beast Imitation Drawing!"
Two dark, ink-painted birds burst from the parchment, racing toward Deidara's creations.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The clay birds detonated upon impact, tearing Sai's ink constructs apart midair. Drops of black ink splattered across the battlefield like rain.
Meanwhile, Kankuro remained unshaken.
As the remaining clay birds continued their assault, two Iwa-nin standing beside him quickly formed hand signs.
"Earth Style—Earth Flow Core!"
A massive rock barrier erupted from the ground, shielding Kankuro as the clay birds crashed into it, detonating on impact.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Dust and debris filled the air, but when it cleared—Kankuro stood untouched, smirking up at Deidara.
"Hah! Looks like your bombs aren't working on me!"
Just as Deidara prepared to unleash his C4, a shadow streaked down from above.
A shinobi sword, crackling with Lightning Chakra, sliced through the air, aimed directly at him.
Deidara's instincts kicked in.
He flipped backward midair, leaping off his clay bird just before the blade could make contact.
As he fell toward the ground, his hands flashed through rapid hand signs.
"Take this!"
Above him, the giant white bird he had abandoned suddenly began to expand, its body swelling dangerously—ready to explode.
But before it could detonate, the sword-wielding shinobi drove his blade straight into the clay creature's body, Lightning Chakra surging through the steel.
The swelling stopped instantly.
Deidara's expression darkened as he watched the battlefield unfold.
"Tch… annoying pests!"
Without hesitation, he unrolled a scroll, and from its inked surface, a massive blue dragon burst into existence.
Deidara leapt onto its back, now hovering high in the sky. His sharp eyes locked onto his previous perch—the white giant bird, now under Sai's control.
"You bastard!" he spat.
---
From his ink-painted bird, Sai remained unfazed.
Casually, he glanced at Deidara and muttered, "Detonating clay? Against me, it's just another form of Lightning Release."
Deidara's eye twitched.
"What did you just say?"
His frustration boiled over.
"You dare look down on my explosive art!?"
His fingers twitched eagerly.
"Fine! I'll show you my ultimate masterpiece! Let's see what your so-called 'Lightning Release' can do against this!"
Kankuro, watching from the ground, felt a chill.
"Damn it… provoking him was a mistake."
---
Deidara formed a seal, and the blue dragon beneath him roared.
From its mouth, hundreds of tiny explosive clay creatures spewed forth, swarming toward Sai like a deadly storm.
Sai darted through the sky, barely evading as his ink bird twisted through the air.
Below, Kankuro tensed.
Deidara was just getting started.
---
Deidara bit off a chunk of clay, chewing it thoroughly.
Moments later, he spat it out, molding it with expert hands.
The clay took shape—a perfect replica of himself—before rapidly expanding as it plummeted toward the ground.
BOOM—!
The impact sent shockwaves rippling outward as the figure continued to swell, growing into a towering humanoid colossus—several stories high.
Kankuro's face paled.
"Damn it! Everyone, get back!"
He knew exactly what this meant.
Deidara, grinning maniacally, shouted:
"This was meant for Itachi… but since you insects keep annoying me, enjoy!"
"Witness true art—FLEETING PERFECTION!"
Kankuro and the others scrambled for cover, but Sai made his move.
---
Sai reacted instantly, his ink brush moving like lightning.
From his scroll, a massive falcon materialized, swooping in to carry Kankuro to safety.
At the same time, another figure descended from above—his blade glowing with Lightning Chakra.
He hurled the sword at the swelling clay giant, striking it dead center.
The moment the blade connected—
BANG!
The explosion abruptly stopped, as if the air had been punctured like a balloon.
---
Kankuro, still catching his breath, blinked in disbelief.
"Did… did we stop it?"
But something felt off.
From above, Deidara grinned wickedly.
"You fools…"
The sensor-nin in Kankuro's squad suddenly froze in terror.
"No! There's still chakra in the air!"
Everyone's eyes widened.
If they could see the microscopic dust in the air, they'd realize—
The real bomb had already spread.
---
"Don't breathe! RUN!"
Kankuro gasped, covering his mouth as he bolted.
But for those who reacted too slowly, it was too late.
The invisible particles—tiny clay bombs—had already been inhaled.
Deidara brought his fingers together.
"Sublimation—NOW!"
An instant silence.
Then—
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Blood splattered.
Several ninjas collapsed, their bodies rupturing from the inside out.
Sai, still airborne, shouted: "Stay with me! Hey!"
Kankuro rushed to the fallen. His fists clenched in rage.
"Damn it!"
His gaze snapped upward toward Deidara, now hovering smugly above them.
"He's not going down easy… we need a plan."
But before he could act—
A new presence emerged.
From the smoke and rubble—a figure stepped forward.
A familiar voice spoke.
"I died once already."
"I won't die again."
Kankuro's eyes widened in shock.
"Sasori… of the Red Sand!?"
