No one saw it coming.

The entire room froze.
Every board member, assistant, and executive stared in disbelief. Even Mr. Jonathan, seated at the head of the long polished table, blinked several times, unsure if he was looking at a ghost or a miracle.
Sinclair looked nothing like the man they had heard was clinging to life in a hospital bed. There were no signs of illness, no weakness in his steps. His black suit was perfectly tailored, his shoulders broad, and his eyes sharp and cold.
Jonathan's mind raced. Could all of this have been a trap? he wondered silently, watching Sinclair make his way into the room without saying a word.
But Sinclair wasn't there to explain himself. He walked straight to the woman standing near the far end of the room—Camilla, his wife.
