Micah slid into the back seat of the car beside Darcy, shutting the door with a soft thud. He barely sat still before turning toward the driver. "Let's go to Uncle Graham's store," he said quickly.
Darcy gave him a curious glance.
"The jewellery store I told you about, duh!" Micah said, pouting. "And people tell me I don't listen when they talk!" he grumbled.
Darcy scratched his nose. "Sorry…"
Micah stayed quiet and stared out the window. He recalled the look in Darcy's eyes and pressed his lips together. But he couldn't shake that image from his mind. He fidgeted throughout the drive. Tapping his fingers on his thigh, checking his phone, adjusting the sleeves of his hoodie like they were suddenly uncomfortable. When the car finally pulled up in front of the jewellery store, he shot out like a bullet.
