Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: The fastest record

"Ahh! Who are you? Why are you in my head?!"

A chilling, familiar laughter echoed in his mind.

"Hahaha! So it's you!"

Voldemort immediately recognized the presence invading Peter Pettigrew's thoughts.

"You... You! Master... it's you!"

Terror and awe warred in Peter's trembling voice as he cowered, his body curling into itself as if he could escape the dread clawing at his soul.

"Master, I... I thought I would never see you again! After that failure, I've been hiding in the shadows, terrified the Ministry's Aurors would find me."

"Enough, Peter!" Voldemort's voice was like ice, cutting through Peter's sniveling. "This is not a time for nostalgia. I need a body, and you are my best option."

Despair flickered in Peter's beady eyes. He knew what that meant—becoming Voldemort's host would strip him of his will, reducing him to a mere vessel for the Dark Lord's power.

"But... Master, I... I'm weak. I'm not as strong as before. I fear I won't survive your power."

"Silence!" Voldemort snarled, shadows swirling around him with volatile fury. "Do you think you have a choice? Your body, your soul—they belong to me, Peter. Or would you rather face the consequences of your betrayal? Do you think Potter and his allies would ever forgive you for what you did?"

Peter swallowed hard. He had no answer—he knew Voldemort was right. His voice dwindled into an incoherent whimper as Voldemort's presence engulfed him entirely. No one would know what had happened. No one would expect the Dark Lord to return in such a way.

Meanwhile, the Quidditch stadium buzzed with excitement.

Students from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw flooded the stands, eager for the match. The absence of Harry Potter stirred heated discussion among the crowd.

"Did you hear? Harry isn't playing today. Gryffindor had to find a last-minute substitute."

"Oh, they're doomed! A team full of replacements—there's no way Gryffindor is winning this one."

"Not so fast," another student interjected. "That substitute is Lin Yi—the one who took down the troll! He's got serious strength."

"Strength, sure. But being a Seeker is about skill, not just brute force. He might not even catch the Snitch."

Excitement swirled through the stands as the players took their positions. A Hufflepuff supporter pointed toward the sky.

"Look! There's Cedric Diggory, Hufflepuff's Seeker. He nearly caught the Snitch last year. He'll be even more determined today!"

"Hmph! Gryffindor never backs down," a Gryffindor student shot back. "Even without Harry, we'll fight till the end!"

The referee blew the whistle.

Lin Yi took a deep breath, nodded at his teammates, and kicked off the ground. His broom surged upward, cutting through the air as the game began.

Players streaked across the sky in a dazzling blur of colors. Beaters smashed Bludgers to protect their teammates, while Chasers weaved and dodged in pursuit of the Quaffle. The Seekers scoured the sky for the elusive Golden Snitch.

Lin Yi's sharp eyes locked onto a glimmering flash.

"Oh! Incredible! Gryffindor's substitute Seeker, Lin Yi, has already spotted the Snitch! This is the fastest I've ever seen a Seeker locate it!"

The stadium erupted in cheers and gasps as Lin Yi shot forward, his broom accelerating like a lightning bolt.

"Dear spectators, look at that speed! Lin Yi isn't relying on fancy maneuvers—just raw, relentless determination! He's moving as if he and the broom are one, a perfect harmony of man and machine!"

Cedric Diggory, recognizing the threat, surged after him, closing the gap. But Lin Yi didn't falter. His focus was unshakable, his breath steady. The Snitch flitted ahead, darting through the sky like a mischievous sprite, but Lin Yi pursued it like a predator locking onto prey.

The chase was on.

Suddenly, a decisive moment!

With no wasted movement, Lin Yi relied purely on speed and instinct. He surged forward, his fingers grazing the elusive Golden Snitch. Then, in a final burst of acceleration, he clasped it firmly in his palm.

The Gryffindor stands erupted in cheers—Lin Yi, the newcomer, had secured victory in his own way!

"This was a contest of speed and determination! Lin Yi's performance today proves that true victory stems from unwavering focus and relentless pursuit."

"Oh my God! From the start to the finish, this match lasted less than five minutes! Gryffindor's substitute Seeker has already caught the Snitch!"

"That's right! You heard correctly! This Quidditch match has set a new record—the fastest capture of the Golden Snitch ever!"

The commentator's voice trembled with excitement, mirroring the electrifying energy that ignited the entire stadium. The crowd roared in disbelief and celebration.

"Lin Yi, Gryffindor's rising star, has rewritten history with his breathtaking speed and unshakable resolve! Every sprint, every maneuver was executed with precision, as if he and the Snitch were connected by some unseen force."

"Hufflepuff's Seeker, Cedric Diggory, fought valiantly, demonstrating remarkable skill and determination. Though he fell just short today, this match will surely become a defining moment in his career—a challenge that will only fuel his drive for future triumphs. And perhaps, inspire us all to chase victory with the same relentless spirit."
