The force of the wind stole the breath from Rexan as they landed back on the school grounds, high above the cheering crowd.
She found herself cradled in Ken's arms, her gaze flickering to the sea of faces below. They were all staring up at them, awestruck.
It hit her then—just how powerful Ken truly was. Skilled in combat, adept at magic, and a top academic, he seemed almost untouchable.
"Impressed, are we?" Ken teased, catching the star-struck look on her face as he descended gracefully into the school hallway.
Before she could respond, a ripple of excitement swept through the crowd.
"He's back!" someone yelled, and the entire student body erupted in a frenzy, swarming the hallway to catch a glimpse of him.
"I didn't know you were such a big deal," Rexan said, trying to sound casual but failing to hide the hint of awe in her voice.
Ken leaned closer, a sly smirk playing on his lips. "What's this? Shy all of a sudden, darling?" he murmured just for her to hear.
