Chapter 146 - Chapter 146: Vice Hall Master of the Soul Hall

"Whoosh!"

A streak of eerie black light burst forth from within the bone blade. It was a faint, flickering glow, on the verge of being extinguished, like a dying ember. The moment it appeared, it transformed into a crimson flash, streaking across the air—heading straight for the edge of the spatial barrier.

"Bang."

A dull thud echoed as the glow slammed into the spatial barrier and rebounded instantly. The barrier shimmered faintly with a layer of silvery light.

"Impressive. Still alive after that?"

A cold, cutting voice rang out as the flickering glow revealed a ghastly, distorted face—it was none other than the visage of the Grand Venerate. Ghostfire burned within his hollow eyes, filled with fury and unwillingness.

He had been so close. When he realized he was no match, he'd feigned death to trigger a secret technique for escape. But to his shock, Chen Xiaoming had anticipated this and sealed the space beforehand.

"You dare offend my Soul Clan, you—"

"You're already dead. Why so chatty?"

With a casual flick of his hand, Chen Xiaoming grasped the flickering glow and crushed it effortlessly. The ghostly face was snuffed out in a burst of silver light, reduced to ash in an instant.

"Enough talk—kill him or we die!"

Gu You out a fierce roar. Behind him, the black-robed figures exchanged glances before charging toward Chen Xiaoming. Streams of brilliant battle energy surged from their hands, blotting out the sky. The air trembled beneath the overwhelming force.

With a single step, Gu You vanished into the tide of figures, distorting the space around him as he moved toward the inner hall.

Chen Xiaoming glanced at the group of Soul Hall experts—none stronger than Dou Venerates. His right hand flared with silver light, transforming into a colossal hand over a hundred feet in size. It descended from the sky, tearing through the void.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom…"

Streams of battle energy struck the massive silver palm, but barely caused a ripple. With unrelenting momentum, the giant hand came crashing down, reducing the Soul Hall forces beneath it to pulp.

In mere moments, silence reigned within the Soul Hall.

Through the black hall's shadowed interior, Chen Xiaoming's eyes locked onto Gu You, watching him flee in a specific direction.

A ripple of space beneath his feet—Chen Xiaoming vanished.

Inside the Black Hall.

"Faster… Damn it… I must—"

Muttering anxiously under his breath, Gu You swept a glance behind him, only to freeze mid-step.

Despair flickered in his eyes.

There, not far ahead, stood Chen Xiaoming—sweat dripping down his forehead, Gu You's face twisted with dread.

"I—"

Before he could finish the word, a massive silver hand reached out. Light engulfed everything. Gu You was utterly erased.

"Villains always talk too much. You'd think they'd learn."

Chen Xiaoming muttered as he obliterated the man's soul. Not that it mattered—talking or not, death was inevitable.

"Whoosh."

With a tap of his foot, Chen Xiaoming rose into the air, hovering above the entire space. His gaze swept over the desolate ruin of the Human Hall, brow furrowing slightly.

Hadn't someone said the Vice Hall Master of the Soul Hall was here?

Where was he?

This kind of situation annoyed him the most. He'd finished everyone else off, but leaving just one? It felt… incomplete.

Chen Xiaoming was meticulous. When he settled accounts, it had to be thorough. A family needed to be whole—one person missing? Not acceptable.

Instead of leaving, he released the spatial lock and settled cross-legged in the void, waiting.

One day… three days… a week passed.

Chen Xiaoming finally opened his eyes, a faint smile tugging at his lips. His gaze turned toward a ripple in space.

There, the void twisted, and from a tear in the fabric of reality emerged a figure shrouded in dense black mist.

The moment the figure appeared, he paused, sensing the deathly stillness of the Human Hall. His brows knitted in confusion.

"Finally."

A voice rang out suddenly—light and casual, but in the deathly silence of the space, it echoed sharply.

The figure turned, two sinister, cold eyes locking onto Chen Xiaoming. Black mist swirled restlessly, and a suffocating aura began to build.

"Was this your doing?"

The voice was icy and lifeless, bone-chilling. The figure was indeed the Vice Hall Master of the Soul Hall. His gaze swept over the ruined hall, the corpse of Gu You, and the massive handprint etched into the ground—all pointing to one culprit.

"What do you think?"

Chen Xiaoming replied lazily, a brow raised. These Soul Hall people loved wasting time on pointless words. He'd waited a whole week—if it wasn't him, why would he still be here?

What, did they think Chen Xiaoming had nothing better to do?

He was a man with countless responsibilities—managing billions with every passing minute!

"Whoosh."

A flash of silver light blanketed the sky, instantly sealing the space.

Chen Xiaoming didn't believe in idle chatter. With a step, his figure vanished. The space around the Vice Hall Master twisted as a spatial rift formed beside him.

From that abyssal tear exploded a dazzling silver glow, like a beacon piercing eternal night.

The light morphed into a crystalline hand, adorned with golden runes. Tremendous Dou Qi coalesced, making the surrounding space quake violently.

"Hmph!"

The Vice Hall Master snorted coldly. His eyes flared with dark, freezing light. With a flick of his fingers, black energy surged, forming five massive chains that shot toward the radiant hand.

"Clang… clang… clang…"

The silver hand erupted with blades of light, sharp and precise, shattering all five black chains in an instant.

"Boom!"

In mere moments, the Vice Hall Master's attack was destroyed. His expression shifted. With a powerful leap, he retreated, unleashing a torrent of black mist to block the attack.

The inky fog surged like a tidal wave, engulfing the sky, filling the space with oppressive darkness. In a blink, it shielded the Vice Hall Master entirely.

"Perish."

A cold voice rang out.

In that instant, the crystalline hand erupted with silver light. Brilliant silver radiance flooded the heavens and earth, tearing through the void itself. The black mist that once veiled the sky was pierced apart, as though the very world had fallen into solemn stillness.

The crystalline palm reached into the swirling darkness before the Vice Hall Master of the Soul Hall. Tendrils of black mist writhed and coiled around it, attempting to corrode the hand—but to no avail. They left not a mark.

Whoosh.

Sensing the peril, the Vice Hall Master's aura surged violently as he prepared to tear through the chaotic spatial currents and force his escape.

A slaughtered Human Hall left no value behind—no reason to remain.

His opponent's power far exceeded his own. There was no point in staying to fight a losing battle.

But just as the Vice Hall Master shattered the spatial currents to flee, a figure silently appeared behind him—Chen Xiaoming.

From his eyes, two piercing beams of silver light shot forth.

"Trying to leave?"

"Did you ask me first?"
