Malakai remained alert. Aside from the countless hostile glances he caught as they walked, he had already read the crowd earlier.
He knew full well that many couldn't accept what had happened, that he had defeated their youths.
His vita field was active, scanning everything as he moved. He was ready for anything.
Luna spoke as they walked.
"This place is the Thornspire Grounds. It's where we hold any important events, like the Drah'Morr."
Malakai listened, but his focus was split, half on Luna's words, half on his surroundings.
As they reached the main coven area, he saw the Gor'Mekhai preparing for the day. Their homes were carved into the massive trees, with no doors to speak of. Malakai could see through them easily.
Men and women changed without concern, and children were being dressed and herded off to begin their morning.
