In Charles' office, the mood was anything but calm.
Charles sat behind his desk, visibly annoyed as he watched Noah sprawl out on the couch beside William, one foot propped carelessly on the table. Aclric stood nearby, his arms crossed.
"Noah, get your foot off the table," Charles snapped, then turned to Aclric. "And you—why are you here?"
Aclric sighed, rubbing his temple. "What, I can't come visit? I have a day off, so I thought I'd stop by."
Noah grinned and elbowed his brother. "Ooh, brother, are you in the Knights now?"
Aclric looked exhausted. "I'm a commander, Noah."
Noah's eyes sparkled with admiration. "Whoa, that's so cool!"
Aclric rolled his eyes and slapped Noah lightly on the head. "What's cool about it?!"
Noah laughed, unfazed. "I mean, come on—Commanders are cool!"
Aclric suddenly looked like he was on the verge of tears. "It's so hard, Noah. Sometimes I feel like I will die from all the work!"
William, still seated on the sofa, smiled nervously.
