Chapter 64 - Chapter 63: The Legendary Z-Sword and fusion earrings

"H-How… how is this possible?!" Kibito stared wide-eyed in disbelief.

Goku casually held the Z-Sword in one hand and gave it a few test swings. The Supreme Kai looked at him with anticipation. "Goku, what do you think of the Z-Sword?"

"It's nothing special—just feels really heavy," Goku said flatly. After reverting to his base form, he found even holding it with one hand to be a bit of a challenge.

"You're saying this sword alone can defeat Buu? I have my doubts." Goku of course knew the secret of the sword. He said this intentionally to bait them into revealing more—and maybe find an excuse to 'accidentally' break the sword.

As expected, Kibito didn't take it well. "What's that supposed to mean? This is the most legendary weapon of the Sacred Realm—it can defeat Majin Buu! But just look at you, struggling to wield it. If you can't swing it freely, it's useless!"

"Pfft! Easy for you to say. Why don't you give it a try?" Goku shot Kibito a mischievous look and handed him the sword.

"Hmph!" Kibito took it with a serious face and both hands. Goku let go.

"Waaah!" Kibito instantly buckled under the weight, his eyes bulging. In less than a second, the sword fell from his hands with a thud, burying itself into the ground.

Embarrassed and flustered, Kibito bent down and tried to lift it again, gritting his teeth and using all his strength—but the sword didn't budge an inch.

"Huff… huff…" Kibito turned away, pretending to be composed. "It's… it's normally heavy, that's all…" he panted, and then suddenly spun around, shouting, "Listen up! You'd better learn to wield it properly!" His mouth was hanging open, snot running—clearly, he was both humiliated and frustrated.

Goku effortlessly picked the sword up with one hand again and gave it a few solid swings. "It's heavy, but not unmanageable. Supreme Kai, how about we test the sword's sharpness?"

'That guy's a monster… he can actually wield the Z-Sword with one hand. Just how much strength does he have?!' Kibito was forced to admit his admiration, albeit inwardly.

"Well, alright…" The Supreme Kai raised his hand, and a large cube of black metal materialized above him. "This is Katchin—the hardest metal in the universe. Let's try it."

"Great! Let's see what this sword can do!" Goku gripped the Z-Sword with both hands, leapt into the air, and brought it down with full force on the flying metal.

CLANG!

The metal cube remained untouched. Instead, the Z-Sword snapped clean in two.

BOOM-BOOM-BOOM! The Katchin cube hit the ground and skidded for over a hundred meters before finally stopping.

The Supreme Kai and Kibito were so stunned their jaws dropped.

"H-How could this be…? The Z-Sword… it actually…"

"The most powerful… sword of legend…"

Goku put on his best innocent expression. "Hey, don't blame me! You're the ones who had me test it against the toughest metal in the universe."

The Supreme Kai was utterly dumbfounded, his words coming out in a stutter. "B-But… that sword… it was supposed to be the most powerful weapon… in all of the Sacred Realm's history…"

"Yeah, well… if your 'legendary sword' breaks in one swing, maybe that legend was a bit exaggerated," Goku said casually, tossing the broken blade aside.

"B-But…"

Suddenly, a raspy old voice came from behind them. "Hehehe—not so fast, young man!"

"Wha—?!" The unexpected voice made both the Supreme Kai and Kibito jump in fright.

"Who… who are you?!" The Supreme Kai turned around to find an old man standing there, smiling peacefully.

"I'm you—well, fifteen generations before you. I'm the Old Supreme Kai," he said with a calm, almost playful demeanor.

The Supreme Kai and Kibito were dumbstruck. "Fifteen generations ago…?"

"A… a Supreme Kai?!"

"That's right. A long… long time ago, I was sealed inside that sword by a very strong, very evil guy—not Majin Buu, someone else. He was terrified of me, you see… of my terrifying abilities," the Old Supreme Kai said, giving a few theatrical coughs. "Ah, I'm finally free!"

"You don't look very strong. Mind if I punch you and test it out?" Goku asked, clearly teasing.

"W-Wait! What made him afraid wasn't my power—it was my abilities!" the old man quickly clarified, looking panicked.

The group collectively facepalmed at his frantic expression. Goku looked over at the current Supreme Kai and said dryly, "Are all you Supreme Kais this timid?"

"N-No! Of course not!" the Kai blurted out defensively, deeply embarrassed. This so-called Supreme Kai from fifteen generations ago didn't seem trustworthy at all.

"So, old man," Goku turned to the old man, "you said you have terrifying abilities. What exactly are they?"

"You brat! Quit calling me 'old man' —it's rude! Hmph! I'm not telling you anymore. Bleh!" The Old Supreme Kai crossed his arms and stuck out his tongue like a cranky child.

"You really won't say?"

"Nope! Not even if you beat me!"

"Well, in that case…" Goku chuckled darkly and suddenly appeared beside the old man in a flash. Before the old Kai could react, Goku grabbed him by the shoulder and pressed his fingers to his forehead.

"H-Hey! What are you doing to him?!" Kibito shouted, trying to interfere.

"Relax. I'm not hurting him," Goku said calmly.

In that moment, the Old Supreme Kai froze—his mind completely blank. Goku had activated Divine Eye, an evolved ability from the Human Path, allowing him to peer into a person's thoughts and memory while rendering them temporarily incapacitated. Against a much weaker opponent, it was instant and flawless. If their strength had been closer, it would've taken a fight to weaken them first.

A few moments later, Goku released him and scoffed. "Some Supreme Kai. You don't even have that many useful powers. But that ability to unlock someone's hidden potential—that's definitely worth something. Heh."

As the Old Kai came to, he blinked in confusion. "What happened? Did something just happen?"

"You… you don't remember?" the Supreme Kai asked.

"No? Did something happen?"

"Anyway, no time to waste," Goku cut in. "Buu's still waiting for me. I heard you have fusion earrings. How about handing those over?"

"Earrings? Those aren't toys! Once two people fuse, they can never separate again. Wait… how did you know I have those earrings?" The Old Supreme Kai looked at him suspiciously.

Goku laughed nervously. "I read it in an old book somewhere… Come on, no time to argue! Earth's practically falling apart—I need to head back. Give me the earrings, quick!"

The Old Supreme Kai hesitated. "Well…"

The Supreme Kai jumped in. "Fusion earrings?! If Goku uses those, we could beat Majin Buu for sure, right?"

"If two people with high enough energy fuse, yes—they'd be more than strong enough to defeat Buu," the Old Kai nodded.

"Then what are you waiting for?! Give them to Goku already!" the Supreme Kai urged excitedly.

"But… I was saving them for an emergency…"

"You talk too much," Goku interrupted, appearing beside him and swiftly snatching the earrings from his ears. "These are the ones, right? Perfect. Time to test them out."

"Are you sure? Once you fuse, you can't separate!" the Old Supreme Kai warned with rare seriousness.

Goku ignored him. With a thought, he created six shadow clones using chakra. The clones split into three pairs and began fusing with each other.

The three remaining figures, all fused once, now stood before them. The Supreme Kais watched in stunned silence.

"You can… clone yourself? And that fusion… that's the Yardrat Fusion Technique, right?" the Old Supreme Kai muttered in disbelief. "Impressive, but it's nothing compared to these earrings. Wait… don't tell me you're going to fuse with yourself?"

Goku smiled faintly, then performed another fusion—merging with one of the already fused clones. The other two fused figures also combined again.

The Supreme Kais were utterly dumbfounded.

"I never imagined fusion and shadow clones could be used this way… truly eye-opening," the Old Supreme Kai muttered in awe. "But I'm guessing there's a limit to this, right? If you push the fusion too far, the body might explode from the energy."

Goku nodded. "Exactly. I can only manage two rounds of fusion. Any more, and the clone won't be able to handle it—it'll self-destruct from the overload."

With that, Goku handed one of the earrings to the clone that had undergone double fusion. The two of them put on the earrings—one on the left ear, the other on the right.

FLASH!

A brilliant light burst forth, and an invisible force pulled the two toward each other. In moments, they fused into one.

As the light faded, a new Goku stood before them—his power now exponentially stronger.
