"She is," Granddad Paul replied, not knowing the kind of thoughts that were swirling around in the head of his grandson. Seeing that his grandson was worried, he patted him on the back and said, "There is no need to look so scared. The young girl is really nice, and your grandfather likes her a lot."
"You do?" Lucas turned and asked just as Mia opened the door of the restroom and stepped out. Their gazes met, and the two of them looked away at the same time. However, a second later, Lucas cleared his throat and questioned his grandfather, "You still didn't tell me why you are here."
"I came here because I wanted to give you a surprise, you heartless brat," Granddad Paul rolled his eyes and stated, "I missed you, as neither your mother nor you seem to be missing me."
Lucas's eyes flitted to Mia, who simply looked at him with a hint of confusion in her eyes. The woman looked curious, but she didn't seem to disdain his mother, which brought even more confusion into Lucas's heart.
