As the feast and warnings from Dumbledore ended, all students are escorted to their common rooms by prefects. Penelope Clearwater is escorting to the common room and Roy is facing a crisis at this moment. The hungry stares of girls, to be honest he thought it won't be that bad. but facing reality he regretted getting the veela bloodline. Roy gulped feeling the stares of girls around him. That's not all, the glares from boys making his scalp tingle.
Fillius Flitwick met them in the common room and explained basic rules of dormitory like," the separation of dorms and how one cannot enter the dormitory of opposite gender ", he also said how one cannot enter the dormitory of other student too unless they are invited. Also about the bell that will ring at morning as a wake up call for them, he also explained the unique library and telescope that their common room has.
After saying rules he dismissed them and Roy entered his room. Ravenclaw has individual rooms and rooms with two people. Everyone is provided with individual room, if they like to stay as a duo, then they can ask Flitwick about that, who can change the rooms for them.
As Roy entered his room, he checked if there are any surveillance wards or spells. It's just his paranoia. Who knows what secrets this castle holds. Roy settled down everything and lay on his bed. He slept through the night and woke up to the bell sound. He thought it might be a bit louder but it seems the dorms are enchanted to sound this bell.
After a few moments the sound stopped, Roy got ready and entered the common room. There are students already reading some books. As expected of the house that prioritize wit, but he didn't even saw a single first year among them. Penelope greeted him with a smile and gave him the schedule. She also gave him a map of Hogwarts.
Although not as exaggerated as Marauder's map, it'll be helpful. It's just an ordinary map. Penelope also warned him about the moving stairs. Ryan entered the great hall and ate his breakfast. Ravenclaws arrived slowly, first years are a little sleepy. Ryan felt a death stare on him and saw Cassandra entering the great hall with Slytherin students following behind her.
He waved at her with a smile while she glared at him. Ryan grinned and winked at her, she angrily gave him a glare before started eating her breakfast. But this little moment didn't escape Slytherin students. Some of them narrowed their eyes at him while some like Draco outright send him a death glare.
Meanwhile some girls from Ravenclaw who observed Ryan's moments glared towards Cassandra. So it became a dispute between Ravenclaw and Slytherin now. The professors also noticed the anamoly among children and are confused. Especially Flitwick, he didn't expect a fight to break between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. These two houses have a neutral stand at the minimum.
But soon he and other professors guessed something because most of the glares from Slytherin are directed towards Ryan and most Ravenclaw glares are directed towards Cassandra. So that must be it, the fight between two students turned into fight between two houses.
McGonagall looked at this amused and asked," seems like veela blood is a terrifying thing. We need to smooth things before they can escalate into a fight Fillius ", Flitwick nodded. After sometime the glared gradually lessened before disappearing. Beside Ryan sat Padma Patil and Lisa Turpin.
All Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff moved towards the charms classroom. Flitwick arrived and climbed on to the stacked books and started the roll call. Everyone is present, understandable since it's their first day of leaning magic. After the roll call Flitwick began his lesson.
" Do you know the important aspect when casting a spell? ", Flitwick asked.
Hands rose to the air. Ryan raised an eyebrow while Flitwick called his name," Mr Lockwood. Do you have a guess? ", Ryan said," intent professor. I think the most important aspect of using magic is the intent of the user rather than wand movement or incantation".
Flitwick asked with a smile," elaborate Mr Lockwood ", Ryan said," wand movements and incantations are important when learning but if the spell don't have any intent, the spell won't work even if you pour more magic ".
Flitwick smiled and said," An excellent answer Mr Lockwood. 10 points to Ravenclaw. What Mr Lockwood said is correct. Your intent is the most important thing when doing magic, an unstable mind can't properly channel your magic which may end up in a disaster. Do you know why Incantation and wand movements appeared then? ".
Ryan raised his hands again, Flitwick pointed at him and nodded. " To compensate for the lack of intent sir and to make it easy for beginners to learn spells ", Flitwick nodded," indeed. Wand movements and incantations appeared to allow the beginners to learn the spells in a safe way ". Flitwick then explained about the accidents that occured due to wrong incantations and wrong wand movements for about an hour before dismissing the class.
Ryan didn't even took notes. He can remember everything well. What's the point of taking a notes? The next class is herbology. Panoma Sprout is very tolerant, she didn't scold anyone even if they did some mistakes. She explained everything slowly, the class is about the basics of gardening.
Ryan after classes arrived at the library. He took some beginner level magic books. Although he has many spells, he needs to study in order to learn by himself and not rely on his cheat. Madam Pince is a strict librarian, she hates students with no respect to books.
Ryan noticed she is observing everyone and moved to the back of library. He read through the books and tried spells in silence. And they're all basic spells, so he didn't make much noise. Fortunately for him, the basic spells worked just fine for him. As Ryan is studying a shadow gradually appeared on his view and lifting his head he saw a pair of angry eyes.
