Chapter 79 - CHAPTER 79

Uchiha Tunan's Calculated Justice

As soon as the words fell, the boss's expression darkened, and he roared:

"Kill him!"

The traffickers instantly drew their weapons, slashing toward Uchiha Tunan.

Yet, still seated, he merely tilted his body slightly, effortlessly dodging each attack.

Two burly men lunged at him from opposite sides, their swords gleaming under the dim light.

At the last moment, Uchiha Tunan leaned forward slightly—swish!—their blades clashed against each other instead of cutting him.

A smirk formed at the corner of his lips as he reached out, grasped their wrists, and gave a slight pull.

Thud!

Both men collapsed, their eyes wide with shock before losing consciousness.

The room fell into silence.

The remaining criminals hesitated, their confidence shaken by the ease with which Uchiha Tunan had dismantled their comrades.

Still seated, fingers interlaced atop the table, he asked with eerie calmness:

"Are you sure you want to resist?"

At that moment, the gang leader finished weaving hand seals.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

A massive ball of flame erupted from his mouth, rushing toward Uchiha Tunan, casting an ominous glow on the walls.

But Tunan merely sighed and raised a single hand seal.

"Wind Style: Gale Palm."

A concentrated blast of wind shot forward. The moment it struck the fireball, it split in two, dispersing harmlessly to either side.

The wind blast, however, did not stop. It slammed directly into the boss, hurling him across the room and sending him crashing into a pile of debris.

Silence.

Uchiha Tunan slowly rose from his chair, glancing at the trembling criminals.

"I suggest you surrender."

Then—shnk!

Uchiha Tunan's breath hitched. His eyes widened in disbelief.

A blade had pierced through his chest.

Blood dripped onto the wooden floor.

Behind him, the boss smirked.

"Hah! A mere Konoha brat thought he could challenge me?"

It had all been a substitution jutsu. The moment he was hit by the wind jutsu, he had swapped places with a decoy.

The remaining traffickers let out relieved sighs.

"Boss, what now?"

The leader cast a glance at Uchiha Tunan's lifeless body and sneered.

"Gather everything. Pack up. We leave tonight."

He turned and disappeared into the darkness, making his way to an abandoned house on the village outskirts.

After ensuring he wasn't followed, he lifted a loose floorboard, revealing a hidden scroll.

"So, this is where you stashed the money."

A voice suddenly cut through the silence.

The boss froze. His blood ran cold.

He spun around, drawing his sword.

"Who's there!?"

But as he looked around, the world around him shattered like broken glass.

When his vision cleared, he was back in the same building—with all his men bound and kneeling.

And sitting by the window, calmly feeding a white dove, was Uchiha Tunan.

The boss's face went pale. Genjutsu.

Sweat dripped down his forehead as he stammered:

"P-Please… I can give you money! Name your price!"

The other traffickers joined in, begging for their lives.

Uchiha Tunan's gaze was cold.

He flicked his finger.

Boom!

A compressed air bullet struck the boss's forehead, his skull bursting apart like a crushed fruit.

The remaining criminals fell silent, their stomachs churning in terror.

Yoshihara Ao approached and bowed.

"Lord Tunan, the children are in the basement."

Uchiha Tunan released the dove from his hand, watching it soar into the sky.

"Escort them to my residence. No food, no water, and no communication. I will handle them personally."

"Yes, my lord."

He turned to his subordinates.

"Leave a few men to guard this place. The rest—follow me. We have more filth to purge."

The Next Day—At the Gates of North City

"Move aside! Make way!"

A squad of Konoha guards marched through the streets, escorting a long line of bound criminals.

Villagers stopped to gawk.

"Who are these people?" someone whispered.

Among the crowd, a pre-planted operative spoke up loudly:

"Those are human traffickers! Lord Tunan led a raid last night and wiped out their dens!"

Gasps of shock and murmurs spread like wildfire.

An old woman clapped her hands together.

"Oh my goodness! That boy has done a great deed!"

The operative leaned in, his voice lowering conspiratorially:

"You don't even know the half of it. Many of these scum were ninjas—two of them even Chunin!"

The old woman's expression turned grave.

"Two Chunin? But… Lord Tunan is only a Chunin himself. Was he injured?"

The operative scoffed.

"Lord Tunan is a genius! He handled them effortlessly."

More and more people joined in the gossip, their admiration for Uchiha Tunan growing with every exaggerated retelling.

"First day on the job, and he's already rooting out corruption."

"They say he personally executed a corrupt deputy captain sheltering these gangs."

"Good! We need someone like him!"

The energy in the crowd swelled.

"Long live Lord Tunan!"

"Long live Tunan!"

The chant spread. Soon, the entire street was roaring with praise.

Uchiha Tunan and his guards reached the North City Headquarters.

The criminals were lined up in a neat formation, kneeling before the gate.

Tunan turned to Yoshihara Ao.

"You memorized everything?"

The officer nodded firmly.

"Word for word, my lord."

Uchiha Tunan smiled slightly.

"Good. Relax. No need to be nervous."

As Yoshihara Ao took a deep breath, Uchiha Tunan stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over the city.

His plan was falling perfectly into place.
