Midnight announced "Yui Kodai's team is disqualified".
Present Mic said "Kazuto has eliminated a team. He is ruthless."
A few amongst the audience also agreed. Murmurs started with many saying "He shouldn't have eliminated them" "He took it too far".
Aizawa from beside said, "What are you saying? That was a perfect display of power. He first stole the headbands of every team that attacked him. With this, he made teams with headbands think twice before approaching him. Now, his only problem were the teams without headbands. They had nothing to lose. By eliminating their team, he sent out a message that he was ready to eliminate teams. This way, every team would think twice before approaching him. This also gives Jurota enough time to rest, so that he could be in his best condition for when Shoto, Bakugo and Midoriya go after him."
The murmurs died down from the audience and they all looked at Kazuto amazed. A kid said "He is so cool".
As Kazuto had expected, no one approached them and Jurota had enough time to rest. He had been running non stop ever since the round started.
The cavalry battle went on between teams and Kazuto was looking at the scoreboard. A lot of points switched hands.
Present Mic announced "Just two minutes left in the round and class 1-A has made an incredible comeback."
Shoto, Bakugo, Midoriya and Shinso were the only ones with points. Since the battle was nearing the end, three teams shifted their focus back to Kazuto.
Kazuto heard Bakugo shout "Now that the mob characters are out of the way. Get ready to die."
Sero shoots his tape in Kazuto's direction and Mina sprays her acid to reduce friction. Sero then retracts the tape to pull themselves faster towards Kazuto. Bakugo added his explosions to increase the speed further.
Kazuto looked at them and said to Jurota "Jurota, I need you to run to the tape as soon as possible. The tape, which Sero stuck to the ground, was little far from Kazuto. It would be foolish to stick it right next to Kazuto, but the present situation wasn't a smart one either.
Jurota ran towards the tape with everything he had. Bakugo, who was smart in these situation, realised what was happening. He shouted "Weird eyes, stop the acid" but he was late.
Jurota was already in front of the tape and Kazuto picked it from the ground, using haki to make it not stick to him. Kazuto wasted no time and swing them to his left. Since Mina had reduced the friction, they went sliding towards the boundary line.
Bakugo shouted "Eyes, don't stop the acid, increase it. Flat face, release the tape."
They followed Bakugo's instructions and as soon as Sero released the tape, Bakugo used his explosions to stabilize themselves and managed to stop.
Present Mic said "Bakugo's plan had backfired and are just a foot away from elimination".
Kirishima looked at Mina's feet and saw that Present Mic was correct. Just a foot further to their left and they would've been eliminated.
Kirishima looked up at Bakugo and said "Bakugo, do we really have to go after Kazuto."
Bakugo said "What are you saying spiky hair. We are definitely killing that scar face bastard and winning this round."
Kazuto wanted to push them out but he then dropped the thought since the final round would be boring without Bakugo.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Midoriya flew towards them and Kazuto sensed Midoriya's muscles tense up.
'He is going to use his quirk. This should be interesting. My strength right now is 75% of current All Might's strength, or 40% of One for All's strength. I wonder how I can hold up to his punch.' Kazuto thought.
Kazuto then said to Jurota "Jurota, brace yourselves for this one."
Jurota dug his claws into the concrete and braces himself for impact. When they got closer, Kazuto sensed Dark shadow move to his right.
Midoriya thought 'As expected, he was able to sense Tokoyami's Dark shadow. Now, since he has seen my punch during the USJ incident, he will try to dodge it or block it. This should give enough time for Dark shadow to snatch his headband. Now, I can't hurt my hand. Picture the egg in the microwave, the egg in microwave, the egg...'
Kazuto met Midoriya's fist with all his strength and haki. As Midoriya wished, he didn't break his arm, but the impact from the collision hurt like hell. Both teams went skidding back, with Jurota leaving claw marks behind. A huge gush of winds followed the collision and Dark shadow didn't waste the opportunity.
He went for Kazuto's headband, but Kazuto reacted in time. He turned to his right and punched Dark shadow. He had his haki on from before and when the punch connected, both Dark shadow and Tokoyami screamed in pain.
Midoriya's team was shocked, since they had seen Dark Shadow tank all hits from others. Midoriya asked "Tokoyami, what is happening?"
"I...I..I don't know. This is the first time Dark shadow felt pain and since he is connected to me, I felt it too." Tokoyami said in pain.
Present Mic commented "Midoriya has used his quirk for the first time in the sports festival. His strength is commendable if he was able to hold up against Kazuto. Also, the indestructible Dark shadow took damage for the first time. The last two minutes are getting crazy."
The crowd was going wild and cheering. The pro heroes amongst the audience were all wondering the same thing "If he had this much strength, why didn't he used it earlier?"
Meanwhile, Kazuto had no time to relax, he sensed something approach them and said to Jurota "Jurota, jump back" but Jurota, who was bracing himself, couldn't react in time.
The thing reached Jurota and he turned to the source. It was a wire from Kaminari and a net was also headed their way. Kazuto also sensed a few changes around Iida's claf engines.
Kazuto thought 'Nice strategy. Immobilize Jurota with electricity and throw a net at me. Even if I tear thought it, it will give Iida just enough time to snatch my headband using his ultimate move.'
As Kazuto expected, as the net kept approaching, Iida was charging at Kazuto at crazy speed. Shoto and Iida expected Iida to be faster than Kazuto, and they were right to an extent. Iida was faster than Kazuto before his fight with Nomu, but since then, his speed has increased.
So, Kazuto reacted in time and jumped up. Shoto's fingers touched the headband, but couldn't snatch it in time. It was a close one.
Present Mic screamed "What was that? Iida was superrr fast."
Aizawa beside him said "Everyone in my class is surprising me today. They have improved a lot."
Kazuto had no breathing space. He heard a scream "Die you bastard"
Bakugo was charging at him, using explosions to fly. When Bakugo got close, he immediately stretched out his hand, reaching for the headband. Bakugo also realised that Kazuto can sense his opponents so, he didn't use any explosions to block his vision.
Bakugo still had an advantage here. Bakugo can move around easily in the air while Kazuto can't.
Kazuto tried to grab Bakugo's arm and throw him down, but Bakugo used an explosion to push Kazuto back. Bakugo immediately followed with a series of explosions to perfectly maneuver himself to Kazuto's right.
Kazuto tried to punch Bakugo, but without any proper foothold, he just spun forward. Bakugo took advantage of this and planned an explosion directly at his face. He knew that wouldn't effect Kazuto, but it would blast Kazuto's headband away and send Kazuto floating back.
As the explosions were going off in front of his palm, Present Mic shouted "Time's up"
Bakugo screamed "NO" and set off and explosion in the air.
Kazuto and Bakugo landed on the ground and both didn't look happy. Bakugo was angry because he lost. Kazuto was also angry even though he won, because in his eyes, it wasn't a win.
He barely won. He almost lost his headband twice. It didn't feel like a win for Kazuto. The cameras all zoomed onto Kazuto, the winner of the second round.
It was displayed on the large screen and everyone noticed that he wasn't happy. Present Mic said "Kazuto doesn't look happy even though he won."
Aizawa said "Kazuto barely won. If the round ended a few seconds late, he wouldn't be first. He couldn't do anything to Bakugo when they were in the air."
Midnight announced "The teams that made it to the final round are: Kazuto's team, Todoroki's team, Bakugo's team, Midoriya's team and Shinso's team."
Present Mic said "Team Shinso? When did you make a comeback."
Shinso just smirked whole his teammates were looking around, trying to understand the situation.
All the students gathered around Midnight and said "Don't feel sad that you didn't make it to the final round. We have planned an event for everyone."
Present Mic said "Afternoon events will resume after lunch", then turned to Aizawa and said "Hey Eraser Head, let's go have lunch". Aizawa replied "I'll sleep" and crawled back into his sleeping bag.
Both students and the audience dispersed to have lunch. The students all headed to the cafeteria. Kazuto followed them to the cafeteria in complete silence.
Kirishima approached him and said "I understand why you are frustrated, but that doesn't change the fact that you won. You were against 40 students and you won. I say this is a manly feat."
Kazuto just looked at him and said "Thanks Kirishima. I am fine. This just showed me where I need to improve."
As they were walking to the cafeteria, Kazuto noticed that Shoto and Midoriya were also in the cafeteria. This meant that Shoto and Midoriya didn't have the conversation where Shoto asks if Midoriya was All Might's illegitimate son.
They all got their lunch and sat down at the table. Momo was sitting with the girls saying she had to discuss something with them.
They finished their lunch and headed back to the waiting rooms. The students who qualified were preparing for the final round. Everyone was tensed, but there was a hint of excitement.
They waited until Kazuto walked into the room and said "Break's over. Let's go". The whole class walked back to the stadium. Students from other classes filled the stadium and when everyone was done gathering, Midnight climbed onto the stage.
She said "The final round is going to be a one-on-one fight to the top. Before that, we have organised a recreational event planned for everyone. The participants for the final round can choose not to participate.
Now, let's draw names for the starting matches."
When she was done and brought out a box, Ojiro raised his hand and said "Excuse me. I would like to withdraw."
Present Mic said "What is this? Ojiro suddenly wants to withdraw. Why?"
Everyone from class 1-A turned to him and asked the same question "Why?"
The rest went on the same as in the show. They tried to convince him to stay while he refused. The other student from Shinso's team, the guy with blue hair from class 1-B, also withdrew from the final round.
Present Mic said "The referee has to make the final call".
Midnight said "That kind of youthful talk is what I like. I will allow it."
Unlike in the show, they didn't replace them with other students. Midnight then drew the lots and the first round matches were decided.
Present Mic said "Now, let's look at the first round matchups" and the screen displayed the matchups.
