Chapter 24.
The weapon Li Yue had asked the Dwarf King Eitri to forge was none other than the legendary Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade—the iconic weapon of the Heavenly God, Yang Jian, from ancient Chinese myths and legends.
As for why he chose this particular design?
Simple. It looked cool.
Back in his previous life, Li Yue had been a typical teen—a little dramatic, full of passion, and deeply influenced by the things he watched and loved. After watching the TV series The Lotus Lantern, he had been completely captivated by Jiao Enjun's portrayal of Heavenly God. From that moment on, that image of Yang Jian had been carved into his heart—impossible to replace. No one else's version ever felt quite right.
So when the chance came to forge a divine weapon from scratch? Of course he chose Yang Jian's iconic blade. It wasn't about practicality. Truth be told, Li Yue didn't even really use weapons.
This was about fulfilling a dream he'd carried for two lifetimes.
He gripped the three-pointed blade spear tightly in his right hand. It felt perfect. Not just balanced or smooth—it felt like an extension of his own body. Like it had always belonged there.
He gave it a few test swings. It flowed through the air like a part of him—light in his hand, responsive, almost alive. But its true weight was quite immense. No ordinary being could even lift it. The weapon, like an artifact seeking its rightful wielder, only allowed Li Yue to wield it without resistance.
He looked down at it, marveling at the craftsmanship. The blade and shaft were fused seamlessly—no bolts, no joints, just one flawless piece. The silver handle –was etched with delicate runes that shimmered faintly, cool and comfortable in his grip.
He couldn't help himself. He funneled a stream of his own energy into the weapon.
There was no resistance—none. The energy flowed from his body into the weapon as naturally as blood through a vein. And in an instant, the blade flared with brilliant blue light, glowing like a star.
At the same moment, Li Yue's own body ignited in blue brilliance. Lines of energy surged around him, dancing wildly like sentient streams of light. The very space around him trembled under the pressure of his rising power, the air fracturing with sharp sounds like shattering glass.
And then—he struck.
He turned his eyes to an asteroid drifting in the distance—thousands of kilometers away. With a single, fluid motion, he hurled the blade.
Except it didn't fly.
It disappeared.
No wind. No sound. No flight path.
And then—BOOM.
The blade materialized before the asteroid, piercing it without resistance. Blue light erupted like a supernova, swallowing the asteroid whole. And then—the light contracted, imploding.
No fragments. No sound. The asteroid was simply… gone. Erased from space itself.
Only the blade remained, suspended in the vacuum, humming with power.
Extending his hand and with a thought, Li Yue recalled it. It vanished from space and appeared instantly in his hand.
He grinned.
It obeyed his will completely. Wherever he thought it, the blade would appear—unstoppable, unavoidable and quite inevitable in a literal sense.
Feeling bold, Li Yue shifted his energy, transforming into his thunder-powered state. The blue light around him morphed into arcs of pure silver lightning, crackling around his body. The blade in his hand sparked with electricity, power surging from every edge.
Compared to Thor, Li Yue's aura now radiated with even more intensity.
He couldn't resist.
He posed dramatically—one hand gripping the three-pointed blade, its tip angled toward the ground, arcs of lightning flaring around him as he hovered down from the sky toward Thor and Eitri.
He looked majestic—like a storm-wrapped god descending from the heavens.
It was perfect.
Except...
He was still wearing casual Earth clothes.
Jeans. Hoodie and Sneakers.
"Okay, that weapon is definitely badass," Thor admitted, looking him up and down, "and your power's impressive… but—you really need an armor. And a decent cape. You're still way behind me in style!"
Eitri nodded in agreement, arms crossed.
Li Yue twitched.
"Really, Thor? I just showed you how I vaporized a space rock the size of a large city block, and you're talking about fashion?"
He scowled, not ready to let that insult slide.
"Fine. Let's spar. You and me. Let's see who's really behind."
Thor raised his hands. "Nope. I'm good. I saw what that blade did. No thanks."
Li Yue grumbled, but made a mental note.
Get armor. Get a cape. Go to Wakanda. He would never be out-styled again.
Thor took a step back, waving dismissively.
"No, no, I'm not arguing with a lightning-wrapped maniac who erases big ass asteroids. I'm heading back to Midgard. Later!"
He turned to Eitri. "Brother Eitri, thanks for everything. I'll be back to visit. Maybe with a shopping list."
And with that, the God of Thunder made his exit, leaving behind the dwarf king, a stunned forge crew, and one very smug, lightning-wreathed Li Yue—spear blade in hand, dream fulfilled, and cooler than ever.
To say there's nothing that can surpass it—Thor still couldn't believe it. What shocked him the most was that this terrifying power was the result of just a casual strike from Li Yue. But what truly scared him was the blue energy radiating from Li Yue's body.
When Li Yue unleashed his power, Thor could feel something was off with the thunder energy inside his own body. It was as if it was being suppressed by an overwhelming force beyond his control.
That fear—deep and instinctual—was something Thor had only ever felt in the presence of his father. Yet now, standing before Li Yue, he realized this feeling was even more intense. Even with all his strength and focus, he could barely keep it together.
So, instead of accepting Li Yue's challenge, Thor immediately used Stormbreaker to summon the Bifrost and vanished from Nidavellir in a flash, leaving behind only a quick farewell to the dwarf king, Eitri.
…
"This Thor… Why'd he leave in such a hurry?"
Now, only Li Yue remained in Nidavellir. He scratched his head awkwardly and smiled at Eitri.
"Thor is still the same. Even though his power has grown tremendously, his personality hasn't changed a bit—still impulsive as ever!"
Eitri chuckled. He and Thor had known each other for years, so he completely understood Thor's temperament.
"Yes, Brother Eitri, I have one more request. I hope it's not too much trouble—can I pick out another weapon from your collection? I don't need you to forge a new one, just something you've already made."
Li Yue spoke a bit hesitantly, feeling he was asking too much. He'd already received one weapon for free, and now he was asking for another.
But he truly needed a short weapon, so he decided to be bold and ask.
"What do you mean, too much? Over the years, we've crafted so many weapons. Aside from the ones sent to Asgard, most have never been used—we still have tons in storage!"
"Come on, I'll take you to the warehouse. Take your pick. One, ten, or even a hundred—it's no problem!"
Without hesitation, Eitri led Li Yue to the weapon storage room.
Inside, the warehouse was filled with weapons of every kind—spears, swords, and more. Most were of Western design, similar to the ones Li Yue had seen in Asgard.
In one corner, Li Yue spotted a short blade. It was about 60 centimeters long, around 3 centimeters wide, and only slightly curved—similar to Deadpool's katana. He picked it up and gave it a test swing. It felt perfect in his hands.
"This is it!"
Li Yue decided instantly.
"Oh right, Brother Eitri, if a bald purple guy named Thanos shows up, you must find a way to contact Thor. Otherwise, the consequences could be unimaginable!"
With his goal fulfilled, Li Yue prepared to leave—but not before giving Eitri that crucial warning.
Before Eitri could respond, Li Yue's figure vanished from Nidavellir, leaving no trace behind.
The next moment, Li Yue reappeared on Earth—in Tony Stark's living room.
"Mr. Li Yue, welcome back," Jarvis greeted warmly.
"Hey, Jarvis. What's Tony up to?" Li Yue asked while waving his hand in front of him. A sound like shattering glass rang out as the space in front of him fractured like a broken mirror.
"Mr. Stark is in the underground lab. He instructed me to notify him as soon as you returned. Please wait a moment."
Li Yue placed the double-edged spear blade he had just chosen in front of him—not physically carrying it, but keeping it close using his powers.
Just as he finished that, Jarvis' voice returned.
"Mr. Stark will be up shortly!"
"Alright, I'll wait for him here."
Li Yue didn't need to carry the blade physically. With a mere thought, it could appear in his hand. Carrying it around openly would only attract attention, like being treated as a zoo exhibit. Keeping it in mirror space was far more convenient.
With a wave of his hand, he sealed the mirror space.
"Mr. Li Yue, Mr. Stark is on his way up!"
It wasn't long before Tony came rushing up from the lab.
"Hey, Li Yue! You've been completely MIA the last couple of days!"
Tony saw Li Yue sitting on the couch, sipping a drink and munching on fruit. He grabbed a can of soda from the fridge and plopped down on the opposite couch.
For some reason, whenever he was around Li Yue, Tony dropped all pretenses—no billionaire poise, no fancy manners. Just casual conversation, like two old friends hanging out.
"I told you before I left—I was going to take a walk in Asgard," Li Yue said casually, stuffing more fruit into his mouth.
"Oh, don't even start. You ran off so fast, you didn't even let me finish what I was saying. I wanted to check out Asgard too!"
Tony picked up some fruit and began snacking, complaining at the same time.
"Alright, alright. Let's not dwell on that. What are you working on in the basement?" Li Yue quickly changed the subject, slightly embarrassed.
"Of course, I'm working on that nanotech you mentioned earlier. I've been pouring all my energy into developing it."
"Be honest with me—this nanotech… Did you see it in the future? Is this the same war suit I'll eventually invent? Did you just bring back the idea and pretend it was yours?"
"Uh, well… Yeah, pretty much," Li Yue admitted openly. There was no point hiding it anymore.
"I knew it! No wonder when I was working on the Iron Man suits, you kept giving such good suggestions. You even had me build the Veronica system. I was so confused back then—I thought Veronica was your ex-girlfriend!"
"It wasn't until I saw that green monster the last time you came back that everything made sense. The F-HK armor series I developed, and the Veronica support system—they were all created to handle that green beast!"
–Tony rambled on, half venting, half laughing, throwing playful accusations at Li Yue for "tricking" him.
Li Yue could only sit quietly, listening to Tony's complaints with a helpless expression.
"Oh, and you better tell me everything about my future self—and about that Nano Armor I end up building. That's your punishment for deceiving me!"
Of course, Tony wasn't really blaming Li Yue—he was just teasing. Still, he was curious about the materials used for his future armor, which could help with his current research.
In fact, Tony rather enjoyed this situation. It felt like he was plagiarizing his own ideas from the future. Surely, his future self wouldn't come back in time and sue him for copyright! The thought amused him, and he couldn't help but chuckle.
But Tony didn't share this thought with Li Yue. If Li Yue had known what Tony was thinking, he probably would've replied with a smirk, "That's not necessarily true…"
Eventually, Li Yue did reveal some information about the third act of the Avengers' unification and about Tony's use of the Nano Warframe. Tony nodded as he listened, continuously impressed by his own future brilliance.
"Haha! I really am that smartest in the future. No doubt I'm the most talented scientist on Earth!" Li Yue didn't even bother arguing with Tony's self-praise.
"Alright, alright—you're the one with the most genius, happy now?" Li Yue smiled. "Actually, I came to see you because I need your help with something."
"You, need my help?" Tony raised an eyebrow. "The guy who freely travels between the Nine Realms and can talk to people from the future needs my help? What could I possibly do for you?"
"Seriously, Tony, don't joke around. I really do need your help."
"I need you to create an intelligent butler system for me—something like Jarvis, but portable. And it should also have powerful network hacking capabilities. Can you do it?"
Li Yue explained his idea: a smart assistant like Jarvis that he could carry around—ideally in the form of a watch or a phone. And when it came to developing such tech, the only person he could think of was Tony.
"–An intelligent butler... portable... and with hacking abilities?"
Tony mulled over the idea.
"Building the smart assistant is easy. I can just replicate Jarvis. Making it portable isn't too difficult either—could be a smartwatch or a phone. But the challenge is data storage. Portable devices can't store much."
"The real issue is the hacking ability. Sure, it can easily break into regular systems. But if you're talking about something like S.H.I.E.L.D., you'd need massive servers and powerful processing just to stand a chance. Otherwise, it won't work."
Tony paused, deep in thought, before continuing.
"But if you don't need it to hack into highly secure organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D.—if it's just for accessing basic systems and modifying records—then yeah, that's totally doable. Give me a few days, and I'll call you when it's ready."
Li Yue smiled in relief. "Great, Tony. Thanks! I won't take up more of your time. Just let me know when it's done."
He stood up, ready to leave. He had other plans—his trip to Asgard had delayed his meeting with Louise, and he hadn't seen her in days.
"Oh, and Tony… I hope you don't trap yourself in the future. I hope you grow into an even stronger Iron Man."
"Alright then, goodbye, Tony!"
With that, Li Yue vanished before Tony's eyes—of course, not forgetting to take his blade with him.
"Trapped by my future self? Walking my own path?"
Tony chuckled to himself. "Haha… well, I doubt my future self ever got his hands on that rare metal."
His smile deepened as the image of those mysterious metal fragments in his basement floated into his mind.
