Serena woke up covered in sweat, she shivered under the wool blanket, her fingers as cold as ice. Her full red lips oddly pale and her caramel golden skin looked rather dusty. She reached out to touch her face, remembering the wounds she received from the girl's grip she slowly took a careful look at her wrist but there was nothing there, not a single scratch . Pleased she sighed in relief " it was all a dream, a terrible awful dream" a smile on her face. She placed her hand on her chest grasping hard on her night dress, her heart beating loudly. " Serena are you alright love you look like you saw a ghost" Missy said taking a long look at her . " Hmmm I think so, I had a terrible nightmare aunt Missy it was completely terrible and it felt so real like I was actually there but, I wasn't ohh aunt Missy it was awful " Serena said her fingers curled up in a ball on the sheets . Missy was silent for sometime, her eyes sad and her usual charming smile could not be seen. She sat close to Serena her face held so many secrets which were begging to be said. She gave Serena a sweet smile, that smile which could calm any aching heart . " Serena, dearest whatever you saw, whatever you think it might mean even as simple as how it felt " Missy paused taking Serena's palm in hers , she looked at Serena with tense eyes , her fingers trembling slightly as she said " speak to no one about it not even me okay" . Serena was stunned by Missy's words, for a second she thought she was still dreaming. She tried to retrieve her hand but Missy grasped even tighter. " You can't trust anyone, not even me" Missy said looking away , " Especially me" she whispered,a tear falling from her eyes .
Serena brows furrowed she was too confused to comprehend anything but, the scene before her was rather strange , infact the few hours she had been in this town have been rather strange, even the people are strange and now Missy is acting strange as well. How could she not trust aunt Missy she has known her practically her entire life or at least what she could remember of her life , Missy had always been there for her , making sure she was okay despite she was barely ten years older than her . Missy was more than a sister and definitely more than a friend , she would always trust her . " Why do you say that aunt Missy I know something is off, I know you might have an idea why father asked me to come hear so why not just tell me? I'm sure I would understand " Serena said calmly , she knew her asking wouldn't yield much just like all other times she tried asking about her life with her parents . Missy opened her mouth to speak but no words came out she seemed to be contemplating on what to say , her beautiful delicate face looked like it was about to crack which wasn't a common sight when it comes to Missy, she was always composed , proper as most would call it . Serena leaned closer hoping that finally she would get something no matter how little about her past but before Missy could reply there was a knock on the door. The door creeked open and Mrs Smith came in looking flustered. " Pardon me I didn't mean to intrude ladies but the general is here to take you to meet the elders " she said rubbing her palms on her apron, her face redder by the minute . " We would be down soon " Missy said letting go of Serena's hand, her usual calm and composed aura fully restored . She walked towards the window ledge leaning against it just as she did the previous night " get dressed Serena we don't want to keep them waiting" she said calmly, her eyes distant as she looked out of the window . Serena nodded feeling the change in the atmosphere in the room, she hurried into the bathroom to get ready. Mrs Smith turning to leave said " you are expected to present yourself before the council to plead your case , that is all the grace you could be given for betraying your own kind, I hope she's worth it " " she is, she is worth far more than your little mind could possibly imagine you will see" Missy said without turning to look at Mrs Smith. As soon as she heard the door shut she burst out in tears right at the ledge " my life may be over but yours has only begun my dear" she whispered in amidst sobs.
The duo arrived down stairs to meet the general waiting patiently by the door. He still had the cap on but Serena could see his blonde hair from underneath, the general was truly one to admire actually there was alot for her to admire about him, he was tall for one , he had a dominating aura, the kind for someone of power .
He also had a very good physique as expected for a general,it just made her wonder how attractive he would be without the cap on. " Ms Serena, Ms Missy I'm sorry to inform you that we have to leave immediately we can't keep the elders waiting any longer" he said sternly , his hands crossed behind his back . " No but we haven't had breakfast yet I'm sure you'd be starving Serena let's get you something to eat then we'll go" Missy said rubbing Serena's back in a comforting manner on the contrary she looked like she needed comfort. " I'm sorry but you can't delay this any further" the general with a stern clear voice which held hostility and resentment . " Well I would not take her to see anyone on an empty stomach " Missy yelled , for a second Serena thought she saw Missy's eyes change to red . " Don't make this more difficult than it already is Missy" he said moving towards them , Missy immediately stood in front of Serena in a fighting stance the aura emitting from the two was suffocating . Serena could not grasp what was happening at the moment all she prayed was it didn't end in a physical fight
